Hennessy Illuminates Upper House KL this Chinese New Year

January 31, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

This Chinese New Year, Hennessy, the world’s most renowned cognac house, invites you to step into a reimagined festive celebration at Upper House KL, blending Chinese New Year traditions with modernity and artistry.

Celebrate the Year of the Snake in Bold Style with Hennessy at Upper House KL

Overlooking the vibrant streets of Petaling Street with panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic skyline, Upper House KL has been transformed into a breathtaking haven of renewal and celebration. This partnership between Hennessy and Upper House KL redefines the way Chinese New Year is experienced, offering a bold and elevated celebration where every element has been thoughtfully curated to capture the joy and spirit of the festive season.

At the heart of the celebration is the Snake installation, a luminous centrepiece inspired by Hennessy’s iconic Bras Armé emblem. This striking structure, with its flowing, dynamic design, symbolises strength, mastery, and resilience — qualities deeply rooted in Hennessy’s DNA. The installation captures the spirit of the snake, a universal symbol of transformation and rebirth, shedding its skin to embrace new beginnings. Illuminated in radiant hues of red and amber, its graceful curves evoke the energy of progress and ambition, reflecting the warmth of connection, the renewal of ambitions, and the boundless possibilities of the year ahead.

“For more than a century, Hennessy has been a part of Malaysian Chinese celebrations, marking life’s milestones and festive gatherings with moments of connection and joy,” said Laura Drozdowski Lot, Marketing Director of Moët Hennessy Malaysia & Singapore. “This year, we honour that rich legacy by inviting Malaysians to reimagine the beauty of Chinese New Year traditions through a bold, modern lens. Together with Upper House KL, we embrace the values of the Year of the Snake—renewal, ambition, and progress—and invite you to toast to the endless possibilities ahead.”

Adding to the festivities, a specially curated menu by Chef Raymond Tham, takes guests on a culinary journey that pairs vibrant Chinese New Year-inspired dishes with three limited-edition Hennessy cocktails, crafted to complement Hennessy’s exceptional cognacs.

“Partnering with Hennessy is an honour as we unite to create a Chinese New Year celebration that is both elevated and unforgettable,” said Alex Cheah, Co-founder of The KARLS Group. “This partnership reflects the shared values of tradition, craftsmanship, and a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.”

The festivities extend beyond dining and drinks, offering guests the chance to immerse themselves in meaningful cultural activities, including digital calligraphy and stamping cards, where personalised blessings can be created to celebrate the joy and prosperity of the new year. The evening’s showstopper featured a spectacular fireworks display, lighting up the Kuala Lumpur skyline and symbolising the renewal and optimism of the new year ahead.

For the entire month of February, Upper House KL is poised to become the ultimate destination for elevated Chinese New Year celebrations with Hennessy. Guests are invited to rediscover Chinese New Year traditions in bold, exciting ways—whether through intimate dining experiences with loved ones, sharing meaningful connections, or simply raising a glass to toast new beginnings.

Hennessy x Shuting Qiu Chinese New Year Limited Edition Collection

This Chinese New Year also celebrates the unveiling of the Hennessy x Shuting Qiu limited-edition collection, designed by the renowned Chinese fashion designer known for her bold colours, intricate details, and cultural fusion.

The collection features the iconic bottles of Hennessy Paradis, Hennessy X.O., and Hennessy V.S.O.P. Shuting Qiu’s design brings to life the essence of renewal, transformation, and the spirit of the Snake. Featuring floral motifs, snake-inspired elements, and feminine elegance, the collection symbolises rebirth and harmony, perfectly complementing the vibrancy of the festive season. These stunning limited-edition bottles are available at key retail partners, major supermarkets in Malaysia, and online at The Good Stuff.

Hennessy Chinese New Year Pop-Up at The Exchange TRX

Adding to the festive excitement, Hennessy presents its enchanting Chinese New Year Pop-Up at The Exchange TRX, located at the Urban Node Atrium and in front of the Louis Vuitton store (Ground Floor), open until 2nd February 2025. At the heart of the immersive experience is the Kinetic Spring Garden, a captivating, illuminated space that brings the joy and vibrancy of the season to life. Guests can stroll along a mesmerising pathway of glowing lights and blooming flowers, creating unforgettable photo moments against a backdrop of artistry and renewal with their loved ones.

Visitors are also invited to take part in interactive activities, such as crafting personalised Chinese New Year blessings to bring home and exploring the showcase of the Hennessy x Shuting Qiu Chinese New Year Limited Edition Collection, all while soaking in the festive atmosphere.

This Chinese New Year, let Hennessy inspire your celebrations with bold beginnings, meaningful connections, and endless possibilities. Whether at Upper House KL or The Exchange TRX, celebrate the Year of Snake with Hennessy, where every moment is a toast to renewal, ambition, and the opportunities ahead.
