Ramadan Buffet 2024 : ‘Jom Makan’ Buffet @ Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur

March 1, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

As the eagerly anticipated fasting month approaches, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur is set to delight diners with its themed ‘Jom Makan’ buffet at The Mill Café, running from March 12 to April 9, 2024. Executive Chef Rudy Junaidie and his culinary team have curated a lavish spread of local all-time favorites, celebrating the rich diversity of Malaysia’s culinary landscape

Themed ‘Jom Makan,’ which translates to “Let’s Eat,” the buffet promises to be a gastronomic journey that pays homage to classic dishes, traditional cooking techniques, and authentic flavors. This culinary extravaganza aims to bring people together, fostering connections and strengthening bonds during the month of reflection and renewal.

One of the distinctive highlights of the buffet is the ‘Belanga Bakar,’ a culinary tribute to the traditional method of grilling dishes in a clay pot. This technique imparts earthy, smoky flavors to the food while retaining moisture during the cooking process. Diners can indulge in nine different types of ‘Belanga Bakar,’ featuring chicken, pomfret, and beef, each cooked with Malay, Chinese, and Indian flavors such as assam pedas, curry masala, and kung pao.

Adding to the feast is the Xinjiang Roasted Whole Lamb at the roast section, a crispy and succulent dish marinated with cumin, Szechuan peppercorn, and chili. Widely favored by the Muslim community in Xinjiang, China, this dish has gained immense popularity in Malaysia.

For those seeking comfort, the Sup Campur Station offers a variety of soups made with a combination of spices and herbs. Guests can choose from options like Beef, Chicken, Mutton, Paru (beef lung), and Perut (beef stomach).

A returning favorite, the ‘Jajan Pasar’ section recreates the ambiance of a traditional Asian market where women sell snacks and sweets on raised platforms. Diners can indulge in classic Malaysian desserts like Pulut Panggang, Ubi Kayu with Coconut and Sambal, Bubur Serawa Nangka, Bubur Pulut Hitam, and Red Bean Soup with Glutinous Rice Ball.

The buffet experience extends to a variety of mouthwatering local appetizers, main dishes featuring classics like Rendang Tok, Ayam Masak Madu, Telor Itik Masak Lemak dengan Belimbing Buloh, Kambing Masak Hitam, Udang Goreng Oat, and Bubur Lambuk. Indian favorites like Chicken Peratal, Lamb Sagwala, Gobi Matar, and Dal Fry add a delightful variety to the spread. The Mamak Corner offers choices like Murtabak Daging and Murtabak Ayam.

International offerings include a Shawarma Counter, Seafood on Ice, a Japanese section with Assorted Sushi, Maki, Nigiri, Individual Cold Soba, Chawan Mushi, and Takoyaki. Noodle lovers can head to the Noodle Station for their favorite noodles with a variety of condiments. The dessert spread features an array of cakes and pastries, including Sticky Banana Pudding, Pandan Cream Cake, Crème Brûlée, Chocolate Cake, Mango Tartlets, Strawberry Cream Cheese Cake, and Coconut Tart. Malaysian kuih like Kuih Lapis, Pulut Inti, Kuih Koci, Kuih Bingka Ubi, and Kuih Talam add a touch of local sweetness.

The ‘Jom Makan’ Buffet is available from 7 pm to 10 pm, starting from March 12 to April 9, 2024. The pricing is set at RM168++ per adult and RM84++ per child (5 to 12 years old). Additionally, an early-bird offer allows the purchase of 10 vouchers at RM1,350++ (RM135++ per adult) from February 4 to March 9, 2024.

For reservations and inquiries, guests can contact the hotel via WhatsApp at +60 12 317 0120 or telephone at +603-2117 4163. Online bookings can be made at https://bit.ly/3Saz5mk. The hotel offers free parking for the first 3 hours for dine-in guests.

In addition to the public buffet, the hotel also offers options for private ‘buka puasa’ events from March 12 to April 9, 2024. Hosts can choose between two set menus priced at RM120++ and RM150++ per person, with a minimum guarantee of 50 guests. For inquiries, the Senior Events Manager can be contacted at [email protected].

For guests staying at the hotel, sahur in-room dining is available until April 9, 2024, from midnight to 5.30 am. Two set menus are available, starting from RM40++ per person, and guests can choose the option upon check-in or order at their convenience.

Room reservations at Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur can be made online at www.grandmillenniumkl.com, via e-mail at [email protected], or by phone at +60 3 2117 4888. All prices are in Ringgit Malaysia, subject to a 10% service charge, and prevailing taxes
