IISisters Restaurant @ Sri Petaling: A Hidden Gem for Malay and Nyonya Delights”

April 28, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

IISisters is a newly opened restaurant located in the same row as McDonald’s Sri Petaling. As soon as we walked in, we were impressed by the cosy ambience of the place, which had an open concept kitchen that allowed us to see our food being prepared. The decor was beautifully made and added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.

The menu had a wide variety of dishes to choose from, ranging from rice and noodles to desserts. While the dishes were mainly Malay and Nyonya delights, they had much more to offer than we expected.

 Laksa Johor

We started off with their Laksa Johor, which was absolutely delicious and a must-try dish. The al-dente spaghetti was perfectly cooked in a creamy yet spicy broth and topped with generous ingredients.

Asam Laksa Kedah

Another dish that caught our attention was their Asam Laksa Kedah, which was sinfully good and packed with flavour. We gave it a double thumbs up!

 Authentic Beef Noodles

One of their signatures was the Authentic Beef Noodles, which had thick chunks of sliced beef in it that were cooked to perfection and had a delightfully aromatic hint.

Apart from that, we were also impressed by their selection of delightful Nyonya dishes, which were impressively good and delicious. They had a wide selection to choose from, and what caught our attention was their set meals, which were priced at ONLY RM 10.50. The set meals came with a choice of rice (nasi putih/nasi kunyit), together with sayur curry, acar timun, and sayur kunyit, and they were refillable!

We could also add on some of their signature dishes, which included the Signature Crab Dish, Fish Dish, Mix Seafood Dish, Soup Base Dish, Chicken and Beef Dish, and desserts.

The Kuantan Tamarind Crab was a hit with us. We loved the lovely hint of tamarind and the freshness of the crab, which was perfectly cooked and had a delightful aroma. Apart from the Signature Kuantan Tamarind Crab, we could also enjoy other crab selections such as the Kuantan Black Pepper Crab, Kuantan Kicap Manis Crab, and the Yellow Curry Crab.

We were also impressed with their fish and seafood selection, particularly the Kicap Manis Mix Seafood. The seafood was stir-fried with a light kick of spiciness that added to its deliciousness. We couldn’t resist going for another bowl of rice!

Their Tomyam Soup was also worth ordering. The kick of spiciness with the flavourful blend was amazing. The prawns were so delish, and each mouthful was sinfully good and addictive too. If you’re in the mood for some meat, they have a great variety of choices.

You can have the Daging, which comes in wide varieties such as Daging Bamia, Dagiing Keruntuk Kelantan, Daging Kicap Berempah, Daging Masala Pulau Pinang, Daging Asam Pedas Melaka, Daging Gulai Rebung Negeri Sembilan, and many more. The meat was perfectly cooked, and each mouthful was divinely delicious. We gave it a double thumbs up!

And what’s more the food is approved by the famous food critics from Hong Kong Celebrity Chef. We spotted him during our meals at IISisters.

Overall, IISisters is definitely a restaurant that is worth a visit. From their cosy ambience to their wide range of food choices, there is something for everyone here. The Laksa Johor and Asam Laksa Kedah are some of their must-try dishes, and their set meals at an affordable price are definitely a steal. Don’t forget to also try out their signature dishes such as the Kuantan Tamarind Crab, Kicap Manis Mix Seafood and their various Daging dishes. The attentive and friendly service provided by the staff is also a plus point. With all these delicious food choices and great service, it’s no surprise that IISisters is quickly becoming a popular spot among foodies in Sri Petaling.
