Maria’s SteakCafe Hosted A Special Mother’s Day Treat for Underprivileged Mothers and Children from Dignity for Children Foundation

May 13, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

In the spirit of giving back to the community and sharing with others, aswell as in conjunction with Mother’s Day, Maria’s SteakCafe hosted an intimate luncheon for theunderprivileged mothers and children from Dignity for Children Foundation at their Sunway outlet.

Upon arrival, the 19 mothers and 21 children were greeted with a specially curated, heart-warming menu. The menu included delicious and heart-warming mushroom soup, Siciliana pasta with Argentinian striploin & grilled chicken, and a delectable moist chocolate cake with premium vanilla ice-cream. Roses, cupcakes, and a framed photo were given as souvenirs to make the day even more memorable.

The Dignity for Children Foundation is a non-governmental organisation that provides holistic care and education for urban poor children in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The organisation supports, educates, and prepares the underprivileged for future employability. The primary operations of the foundation through the Harvest Learning Centre serves over a thousand youths aged 1 – 18 years of age.

Maria’s SteakCafe was born out of the love for food and the spirit of sharing hence the founder hopes to carry the family legacy and continue spreading the love back to the community. “We just want to honour these strong ladies who have gone through many obstacles beyond our imagination especially during this pandemic. Pampering them with good food and attention is our way of letting them know that they are being remembered and appreciated.” said Chong Ai Lee, Business Director of Maria’s SteakCafe.

Maria’s SteakCafe has been in support of the Dignity for Children Foundation since 2018 with monthly donations that help assure a future for these students. The restaurant has not only supported on a monetary basis but has also offered and trained some of the students in the Food and Beverage (F&B) segment.
