G Hotel Kelawai Brings Joy of Ramadan to Underprivileged Children of Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Nur Hidayah

May 1, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

In embracing the spirit of sharing and giving during the holy month of Ramadan, G Hotel Kelawai hosted a charity breaking of fast (Buka Puasa) programme with 21 children under the care of Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Nur Hidayah. Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Nur Hidayah was founded in 7 March 2011 and is located at Baling, Kedah. They are registered with the Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) and Jabatan Agama Islam Kedah. The home provides shelter to 26 children prominently girls from the age of 7 to 23 years old who are orphans or hails from a poor family background.

The home is also providing educational and other activities to the children with the assistance of voluntary and full-time staff. The charity event started off by welcoming the children at the hotel lobby by Mr Michael Hanratty, General Manager of G Hotel and Heads of Department. Mr Michael together with the Heads of Department then presented each child and caretaker with ‘Duit Raya’. Followed by a group photography session with the children and hotel team.

The children then gathered at prayer room for Maghrib prayers and the congregation then proceeded to Spoon at level 2 for dinner where they were joined by the management team to  bountiful Buka Puasa spread specially crafted by our Executive Chef, Patrick and his team. The menu includes Kambing Golek, Biryani Rice, Chicken Rendang, Beef and Chicken Satay, Chicken Shawarma, Assorted Desserts, Fruits and much more. The charity event brought joy and smiles to the children as they enjoyed the scrumptious Ramadan feast.

Mr Haji Mohamad Bakre, Deputy Chairman of the Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Nur Hidayah said “Some of the children missed their parents especially during the Ramadan month. We are thankful to G Hotel Kelawai for inviting and treating us with a sumptuous Ramadan Buka Puasa feast.” He further added “It is indeed heart-warming to see staff of G Hotel Kelawai to bring something meaningful during this holy month to our children this year. During this festive season it is most important for them to know that they are not forgotten by the society.”

“Being in the hospitality industry doesn’t restrict us to just being good hosts to our guests. We believe that sharing hospitality and kindness goes beyond our comfort zone and it is important that we remember the less fortunate to remind us of the things we take for granted in life, especially during this festive season.” says Mr. Michael Hanratty, General Manager of G Hotel.

G Hotel aims to support and will continue to organize such events from time to time to help the needy and less fortunate.
