SUNWAY HOTEL BIG BOX SERVES UP “JUADAH BIG BOX”, PROMISING A BIG FEAST FOR RAMADAN

April 13, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

In conjunction with the border reopening, the newly-opened Sunway Hotel Big Box in Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, Johor, has prepared a sumptuous gastronomic spread for the month of Ramadan.

Conceptualised as “Juadah Big Box,” the buffet features delicacies by the newly-installed Executive Chef Jamaluddin Sadikum, a seasoned Chef who has been in the industry for close to 30 years and his team of culinary experts. Chef Jamaluddin Sadikum also brings his experience from Sunway’s flagship hotel in Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, including stints with international hotel chains.

Together, the culinary team has reimagined timeless classics for the modern palate to craft an extraordinary Ramadan affair that comes complete with live-action cooking stations. For the entire month of Ramadan, there will be three different menus on rotation with more than 300 palate-pleasers.

Each of the menus will feature aromatic soups such as Sup Tulang Gearbox, Sup Pindang Lautan, and Soto Ayam Madura.

Some of the must-try meat dishes that are stewed in aromatics and infused with an abundance of spices for hours till they are tender are the Rendang Kambing, Kambing Krutuk, and Daging Rendang Tok Johan Tulang Rawan.

Seafood enthusiasts will be delighted to find a selection of seafood dishes cooked to perfection in fragrant coconut milk, such as Sotong Sumbat Masak Lemak Selasih, Ketam Masak Lemak Nanas, and classic favourites such as Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak Bertimum Tua.

For those who enjoy the bustling bazaar experience with the mingling of exotic aromas wafting through the air, the main attraction will be the eight live-action stations at the outdoor area next to the infinity pool. The action stations with its cheerful chefs will operate throughout the promotion period.

Some of the festive season’s must-haves are also available, including the flavourful Asam Pedas Ikan, the all-time favourite Kambing Golek, and the traditional Ramadan staple Bubur Lambuk.

The dessert station offers a wide spread of traditional homemade kuih such as the Kuih Ondeh-Ondeh, Kuih Keria, Kuih Gula Hangus and Kuih Ketayap. The grill station offers grilled fish, a selection of satay and seafood. The fried snacks station offers everyone’s favourite roadside indulgences, including Ubi Goreng, Durian Tempura, Goreng Pisang and Cucur Udang. The shaved ice station offers ice-cold Ais Kacang and Cendol, while one of the stations offers bazaar favourites like Murtabak and Roti John.

There is also a fried noodle station where diners can create their own noodle dish with their preferred selection of seafood and vegetables.

As perfect accompaniments to the Ramadan feast, diners will be spoiled for choice with a wide assortment of appetisers and salads, savouries and pickles, and dressings and sambals that will be served every day.

The Juadah Big Box is available at Sunway Hotel Big Box’s Pendas Café from April 5 to April 28 from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm daily and is priced at MYR128.00 nett per adult and MYR64.00 nett per child (aged 6 to 12 years).
