Celebrate Mid-Autumn with Celestial Treasures from EQ!

July 29, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

More than just a celebration, Mid-Autumn Festival is also a cultural tradition that is close to many hearts. The tradition is never complete without mooncakes, a symbol of completeness and togetherness.

EQ is proud to present Celestial Treasures, a collection of traditional baked mooncakes for those who prefer the classics, and hand-crafted snow skin mooncakes for the more contemporary of palates. There are enough choices to satisfy the preferences of every member of the family.

There are legends and traditions aplenty that surround the Mid-Autumn Festival. Two of these have been featured on the elegant mooncake boxes this year. The Longevity Box is inspired by the Legend of the Jade Rabbit. Marked by a silhouette of the Jade Rabbit, a symbol of longevity, the box comes in vibrant blue, a colour associated with optimism, serenity and health. The Autumn Box draws inspiration from the season itself, boasting natural elements on shades of coral that represent the warmth of a family reunion. The choice of the box is left to the mooncake aficionado, who can also choose between two sets of mooncakes to fill the boxes with.

The Traditional Baked Mooncake Set priced at RM188 features traditional flavours such as Pure Lotus Double Yolk and Traditional Cantonese Mixed Nuts. Weight-watchers rejoice for the Low Sugar White Lotus Single Yolk has made the cut this year. The Signature Pearl of Harmony that delightfully marries toasty black sesame and the savouriness of a salted egg yolk is also making a comeback this season.

EQ’s mooncake master, Chef Lai Wee Hong, has introduced a new flavour to the Snow Skin Mooncake Set: Taro with Sugar Winter Melon and Chinese Pickles. The new addition joins existing flavours such as White Lotus with Osmanthus and Mandarin Peel, Black Sesame with Walnut and Almond, Blueberry with Rose and Dark Chocolate and Musang King Durian. The award-winning Yuzu Pandan will also be featured this autumn. The Snow Skin Mooncake Set is priced at RM228 for six mooncakes. Customisation of the mooncake boxes can be arranged with a prior notice of 6 working days. Mid-Autumn Mooncake Hampers are also available. Guests may choose to pair the mooncakes with a bottle of Cognac and balloon glasses, a bottle of red or white wine with glasses or even Chinese tea and a tea set.

EQ’s Celestial Treasures are available for order via WhatsApp at +60 12 278 9239 or via email at [email protected] and for delivery by AirAsia Food via this link. For more information, click here.
