Welcome the year of the metal rat, an auspicious year of new beginnings and endless opportunities. The rat is the first sign of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, making this year a time for renewal. It promises fresh starts for an abundance of prosperity, success and fortune.

Chinese New Year is a time for family reunions and gathering. The Reunion Dinner is the most important meal and the tradition signifies family values of love, respect and bond. Food plays an important role due to their symbolic meanings of luck and auspiciousness. Dumplings represent wealth as it is shaped like a Chinese gold ingot, the round shape of glutinous rice balls symbolise completeness and reunion, while noodles are all about longevity and smoothness.

This Lunar New Year from 20 January – 8 February 2020, look forward to abundant beginnings with DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur as we invite you to partake in the joy of Chinese New Year with a feast of auspicious cuisine known to bring good luck at the all-day dining buffet outlet, Makan Kitchen. Enjoy five special oriental buffet and set dinner from our master chefs; Golden Prosperity set dinner, Abundant Reunion buffet dinner, Luck & Joyfulness dinner buffet, Chinese New Year Celebratory High Tea and Chinese New Year Celebratory Buffet Dinner.

Golden Prosperity set dinner features the crowd pleasers Wok-fried Tiger Prawns with Pineapple Citrus Sauce topped with Crispy Rice, Prosperous Yee Sang with Norwegian Salmon and Bonito Flakes, Wok-fried Rice with Waxed Meat and Chicken topped with Chicken Floss and more for RM168 nett per adult with minimum of four adults. Available on 24 January 2020 for dinner at 6:30pm – 10:30pm.

The Abundant Reunion dinner buffet will set everyone in the mood for a reunion they were waiting for. The set features Wok Fried Lamb with Sweet Bean and “Dong Quai” Black Pepper Sauce, Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Dry Scallops and Fish Maw, Wok Fried Seasonal Vegetables with Spicy Dried Shrimps, Fresh Baby Grouper with Superior Soy Sauce, Sesame and Ginger Sauce and more for RM168 nett per adult and RM84 nett per child & senior citizen above 60 years old. Available on 24 January 2020 for dinner at 6:30pm – 10:30pm.

Luck & Joyfulness Chinese 9 course set menu includes Yee Sang counter, Prosperity Steamed Village Chicken with Ginger, Garlic and Scallion, Steamed Live Snapper Fish with Ginseng and Baby “Wan Yee” Mushroom, Warm Aloe Vera Pearl Soup with Glutinous Rice Dumpling and Braised Chinese Spinach, Abalone Mushroom with Golden Crab Meat Sauce and more for RM138 nett per adult with minimum of four adults. Available on 24 January 2020 for dinner at 6:30pm – 10:30pm.

Chinese New Year Celebratory High Tea Buffet features Wok fried Noodle with Duck Meat and Vegetables, Mixed Mushrooms, Spring Vegetables with Dried Scallops, Braised Soft Egg Tofu, Mushrooms and Seafood, Deep fried Crab with spiced Salted Egg and more for RM98 nett per adult and RM49 nett per child & senior citizen above 60 years old. Available on 25 – 26 January 2020 for dinner at 12:30pm – 4:00pm.

Chinese New Year Celebratory Buffet Dinner includes Braised Seafood and Crab Meat and Pacific Clam Soup, Chinese Barbeque Chicken, Eight Treasure Lotus Leaf Rice with Seafood, Wok fried Crab with chili and garlic and more for RM138 nett per adult and RM69 nett per child & senior citizen above 60 years old. Available on 25 – 26 January 2020 for dinner at 6:30pm – 10:30p.

For those who wish to take a taste of Doubletree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur home with you, there are delicious treats available for take-away. Try the Makan Kitchen Signature Yee Sang, Fruity Vegetarian Yee Sang (RM100 / half portion). Enjoy the Golden Roast Trio of Half Roasted Duck, Chicken and Chicken Char Siew (RM120 nett). Five Spice Roasted Chicken (RM88 Nett) and do not miss the DoubleTree KL’s Signature Roasted Duck at RM110 Nett.
