DAE JANG KEM KOREAN RESTAURANT, DESA SRI HARTAMAS

November 28, 2012 by StrawberrY Gal

– The Outside View-

A Korean fare for today. It is moving from the famous Korean series “Dai Cheung Gam” and now the Gangnam Style. This round we are going for a Korean Cuisine (Dae Jang Kem)  which is located in Desa Sri Hartamas and we are invited by Christine from Moola for this review. The restaurant is well located just at the back of the Fitness Centre in Desa Sri Hartamas. The location is quite easy to be found and it is located at the first floor. The decent restaurant is operated by a Korean.

Being at a Korean restaurant, we are being served with plentiful of side dishes like Kimchi, anchovies and many more. The slide dishes are plentiful and it taste good too.

We started off with the Jab Chee (잡채) which is where the stir fried dish that combines with the sweet vermicelli noodles and it is surprise me where the noodles are made from the white sweet potato. It is being stir fried and added with the thinly slices of beef and various vegetables like carrots, spinach, and green onions. The noodles are retaining a chewy texture and it is simply lovely and delighting.
Price: RM 25.00

As we know, Korean food is simply good with the BBQ items. Not to forget, we get to try some of the delicious BBQ delights too. The Marinated Pork Belly Sliced is something special which is nice. The thinly sliced pork belly is being marinated and it is then BBQ till perfection. The pork belly offers is crispy and chewy.
Price: RM 25.00

Fresh Pork Belly Sliced (Sam Gyob Sal) is another types of delights which is being served. The taste is slightly different compared to the marinated pork belly. The fresh pork belly left with the porky smell and the meat is softer and not so crispy compare to the marinated one. As for me, I still prefer the marinated pork belly more.
Price: RM 25.00

Other than pork, beef is also one of the popular items in Korean BBQ. The lovely beef is well marinated and being well bbq. The beef is quite good where it’s meat is quite tender.
Price: RM 60.00

If you are pancake lovers, you might fall in love with the Korean Pancake. I am loving this so much and it is sinfully delicious. The pancake is being made from a batter of eggs, wheat flour, rice flour, green onions, and often other additional ingredients. I love it so much when it is a seafood pancake (Pan Fried seafood Flavor Pancake ( Haemul Pajeon)). The fresh seafood like squids and prawns which is being served in the pancake brings a great delighting dish and special too.
Price: RM 30.00

Mixed Fried Vegetables with rice in Stone Pot ( Dol Sot Bibim Bab) is a must in Korean cuisine. is a signature Korean dish. The rice is being served and topped with the seasoned vegetabless, sliced cucumber, tofu, as well as meat as well. The mixed vegetables is very fresh and it is well mixed together and create a health mix of rice which is simply good and delighting.
Price: RM 18.00

Being in Korean restaurant had also brought us to try the lovely soury kimchi soup ( Kim Chi Jingae) which is the stew-like Korean dish which is the combination of kimchi with other ingredients like scallions, onions and diced tofu. The delights is bringing a light spiciness with the sour kimchi taste with it. It is nice to have it during the rainy days and with a hot bowl of rice.
Price: RM 15.00

We ended our meal steamed egg where the egg is smooth texture and it has some minced meat with it.
Price: (NIL)
