BAI NIEN HOT POT (百年老火锅), KOTA DAMANSARA

May 31, 2012 by StrawberrY Gal

Bai Nien Old Hotpot 百年老火锅  is one of the place which served steamboat in Kota Damansara. There are located at Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara. By the name of Bai Nian which means “hundred years”. the owner claims that the soup recipes is being inherited by their grandmother’s grandmother’s which is kinda a decades back. With this, the owner would like to bring the family recipes to share with the customers. The restaurant is simply located just opposite the famous Chili Pan Mee.

– The Steamboat Ingridients –
– The Noodles-
– The Boiling Hot Pot-

We had the Premier Set Menu (精选套餐) where the set is good enough for 4 pax. The portion is kinda a big one and the ingridients are fresh. Some of the ingridients includes fish balls, taufu, vegetables, slices of fish, fu chok, bird’s egg, variety of fishballs and wantan. In this you may have choices to select two different soup to served in the steamboat. There is an option of Clear Soup and Tom Yam Soup will be available for no extra charges and if you like to change to the Bai Nian soup, there will be an additional of RM 8.90. The soup taste is good and it is being cooked for more than 6 hours before it is served. It also comes with sliced pork or beef sliced together with the noodles and egg.
Price: RM30.50 per set

Next will be the additional top-up to choose too in the menu. You may add additional items to have it with your steamboat too. There is a choice of beef slice or pork slice to add together for the steamboat if you plan to get one. Dip it in the soup and stir till is cooked.

Beside steamboat, you may order some snacks or stir fried to accompany with the steamboat as well. Fried Lala Mee Hoon (拉拉炒米粉) is where their signature bihun is being stir fried using fresh lala. The noodles is simply tasty and the taste is good as well where the taste and the sweetness of the lala absorb well into the bihun.
Price: RM RM18 / RM28

Fried Chicken Wing (炸鸡翅膀) is where the fried chicken is well fried with the fermented beancurd. The texture is simply crispy as well as flavorful as well. It is well deep fried overall.
Price: RM 2.50/each

Another speciality is the Fried Dumpling (炸水饺) where it is being deep fried till crispiness with the soft filling of meat and chopped vegetables. You may dip the sweet sauce to make it even better in the taste.
Price: RM 6.50 / RM 13.00

Next is the Hot Dog with Onions ( 大葱炒香肠) where the hot dog is being deep fried with the onions accompanied together. The baby hotdog is kinda crunchy as well.
Price: RM8.90

Taiwan Sausages( 炸台湾香肠) is simply crispy outer skin and tastes salty inside. The taste is quite good but not too oily as well.
RM8.90

Fried Fish Cake (炸鱼饼) is where the fish cake is well deep fried till golden brown and the texture is good as well.
RM4.50

Pandan Cooler 冰冷班兰
