11street Joins FoodSaver to Introduce a Revolutionary Food Preservation System

October 3, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

While trend for fresh food consumption is gaining prominence locally, the humid weather has made it difficult to preserve food, irrespective of the food conditions. Seeking to address this woe, 11street partnered with Visionary Solutions today to introduce FoodSaver®, which was awarded the world’s #1 vacuum sealing system – a revolutionary food preservation system – available exclusively on 11street.

The partnership will bring to the online marketplace the sophisticated FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer V3840 – capable of sealing in the freshness of produce or cooked food for up to 5 times longer.

Chief Operating Officer of 11street, Chuljin Yoon said: “A report in 2015 found that Malaysians waste up to 15,000 tonnes of food daily . Therefore, the partnership with Visionary Solutions will provide consumers with a sustainable option to manage their food inventory in the hopes to mitigate food wastage and potentially help households save up to RM12,000 a year. “

Catering to a Growing Health-Conscious Society

Additionally, recent findings have indicated that the Asia Pacific region is growing to be a dominant market for fresh food consumption. In 2015, Nielsen research reported that Asia Pacific region is gearing towards healthy living and eating2.

“The healthy lifestyle living through food choices is fast becoming a norm in our society, and this is indicated by the growth of healthy meal delivery services and fresh produce consumption. While food consumption habits continue to change, there is a gap in the market to educate consumers on the best way to preserve their food. FoodSaver introduces the solution to this gap, for our customers to enjoy their food – fresh – for a longer period,” added Yoon.

Executive Director of Visionary Solutions, Lim Pei Yan said, “With FoodSaver, we hope consumers may continue to adopt a healthy lifestyle and consume fresh produce, which can now last up to 5 times longer with FoodSaver technology.”

Food preservation methodology has evolved over the centuries although traditional techniques from salting, freezing or dehydrating which still exists today. These methods, while apt at preservation, does not allow preserved food to retain its original texture or flavour. Pioneering a new method – vacuum sealing – FoodSaver is equipped with advanced technology to make easy and long lasting storing a reality. With FoodSaver, what would usually last 6 months can be preserved up to 3 years while retaining the essential texture appeasing to the 5 senses.

Everchanging Consumer Demands and Needs

“As consumers shift towards online shopping for all their purchasing needs, we recognize the need to partner with a leading online marketplace such as 11street to tap into this wider market base. The partnership is a perfect gateway for us to reach out to the younger audience market seeking for products that enhance their lifestyle, even on food preservation,” Lim added.

“Catering the needs of consumers have always been a central theme for 11street to become one of the leading online marketplaces in Malaysia. Consumers can also expect a differentiated user experience and interface in the coming months as 11street continues to improve its service offering and an ever-expanding brand that we will be partnering with,” ended Yoon.

Also at the launch was Celebrity Chef Nik Michael Imran, a contestant of the 2011 MasterChef Malaysia, who showcased his cooking finesse featuring two of his beloved recipes, the salted egg prawn mayo rolls and smoked duck carbonara. Sharing his experience and love for cooking, Chef Nik Imran said “Freshness is an undebatable factor when it comes to preparing a nice meal. To achieve this, I will only source for the finest and freshest ingredients in the market.”

The FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer V3840 is efficiently versatile and can be integrated with an array of vacuum sealers, jar and bottle sealers, vacuum seal bags and rolls, vacuum food containers to accessories for consumers to better preserve their food for a long-lasting freshness.

The FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer V3840 is available on 11street starting at RM1,359 from 2 October -22 October 2017. For more details, please visit http://www.11street.my/benefit/promotionDetail.do?planDisplayNumber=594993
