Modern interpretations of traditional Chinese fittings and art throughout The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong convey the city’s dynamic culture, and the hotel’s distinctive style is echoed by its upcoming collaboration with International Jeweler Qeelin’s elegant “East meets West” aesthetic.
A brainchild of award-winning Creative Director Dennis Chan, Qeelin is set to merge fine craftsmanship with inspiration from Asian culture to create stunning jewelry infused with traditional and symbolic values and a spirit of playfulness. The brand’s signature collections are coveted among stars and luminaries all over the world with a beguiling combination of poise, playfulness, imaginative whimsy and enchanting oriental beauty.
From September 1 to October 31, 2017, Café 103 of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong will join forces with Qeelin to please even the most discerning palates with a specially crafted French afternoon tea brimming with delightful Asian flavors. Housed in an exclusive gourd-shaped tea set stand paying homage to the jeweler’s signature Wulu Collection (Iconic Chinese symbol of blessing and positive energy), the Qeelin Afternoon Tea promises to be a new luxury benchmark for midday pastime.
Chocoron is a creative twist on the traditional French macaron where the classic confection is filled with raspberry confit and dressed in a delectable chocolate coating.
Chestnut Matcha Choux showcases a smart balance of East and West influences. Guests can expect the timeless flavors of Mont Blanc – sweetened chestnut puree on meringues, resting on airy pastry choux enclosing a generous portion of silky smooth green tea cream.
Mango Ginger Tarte will for sure catch one’s attention at first sight with an adorable chocolate panda Bo Bo, one of Qeelin’s most beloved collections representing a precious symbol of peace and friendship. The mild tanginess of ginger cuts through the refreshing sweetness of mango custard, offering a lingering aftertaste full of Asian character.
Coconut Passion is a tempting treat featuring synchronized flavors of passion fruit puree, moist almond cake, light chocolate cream and coconut cream beautifully layered in a glass. For an extra hint of glamour, the dessert is topped with a piece of chocolate gourd taking inspiration from the Wulu Collection. For the full menu, please refer to the appendix.
