Introducing Southeast Asia’s First KitKat Concept Store KitKat “Chocolatory”

Malaysia’s number one chocolate brand, KitKat, launched its first ever customised chocolate experience in Malaysia. The KitKat concept store KitKat “Chocolatory” will give the public the chance to engage with the brand in creating delicious, mouth-watering and full of exciting inclusion create-your-own KitKat fingers as well as ready to buy special editions KitKat not available anywhere else at its concept store in Mid Valley Megamall.

Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj was invited to officiate the KitKat “Chocolatory” concept store together with Yang Amat Mulia Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Syed Anwar Jamalullail, Chairman of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad; Mr. Alois Hofbauer, Managing Director of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad and Mr. Sachin Goel, Business Executive Manager of the Confectionery Business Unit, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.

KitKat “Chocolatory” gives chocolate lovers the opportunity to create their own custom-made KitKat from a range of 16 premium ingredients such as fiery chili flakes, chewy caramel, senchia kikusui green tea leaves and other delicious ingredients that allows for personalised creations of up to 10,000 different creations. Chocolate fans can choose from a wide selection of gift boxes, which can then be customised with their names, and include personalised messages as well as designs printed on the pack, making it the perfect gift.

“In the world of popular chocolates, there has been in recent years an ongoing revolution in modifying products and our passion for quality and for exceeding our consumers evolving expectations has been the driving force that has lead for great taste and enjoyment. This unique store, located in a popular shopping mall Mid Valley Megamall, is a significant step in the brand’s quest to continue giving Malaysians an opportunity to create and indulge in completely new KitKat,” explained Mr. Alois Hofbauer, Managing Director of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.
Hofbauer added, “Innovation is the lifeblood in Nestlé, and we always aim to give our consumers exciting new products and experiences using only the finest quality ingredients. Now with KitKat “Chocolatory”, consumers can walk away with their very own delicious and extraordinary creations which are personalised with the highest quality ingredients. Nestlé has become a juggernaut of innovation and we’re taking the personalisation trend a step further. We aim to help make more meaningful connections with our beloved consumers by enabling them to personalise their own experience of KitKat.”

How to “create-your-own” KitKat:  
 

• Consumers are allowed to choose up to three different ingredients, turning all their chocolate fantasies into reality with their own personal KitKat fingers, bringing their creations to life in front of their eyes.
• To make the custom creation process as streamlined as possible, there will be a few tablets placed around the store to facilitate the personalisation, ordering and payment process.
• In addition to creating their own personalised KitKat, consumer’s will also be treated to five extraordinary KitKat Special Editions range of unique flavours every month such as local flavours of Nasi Lemak and the ever most popular king of fruits “Durian”, Café Latte for coffee lovers, Banana Cluster Caramel & Orange, Pineapple and Pecan and many more.

Mr. Sachin Goel, Business Executive Manager of Nestlé Malaysia Confectionery Business Unit said, “In order to further drive an iconic chocolate brand like KitKat into the 21st century, we need to modernise the experience of both the product and the break itself. We want to promote self-expressed customisation and personalisation which showcases every consumer’s uniqueness by allowing them to create their own creations.”

He further commented, “We always strive to give our consumers the best by using only the finest quality ingredients in all our products and now with KitKat “Chocolatory” consumers can walk away with their very own unique savoir-faire of extraordinary creations.”

One of the highlights of the opening event saw the collaboration between KitKat “Chocolatory” and celebrity chef and Malaysian sweetheart Anis Nabilah.

“I am truly pleased to be a part of KitKat “Chocolatory” in Malaysia. It excites me to incorporate the flavours for one of my favourite chocolate brands, KitKat. As a chef, I never forget my Malaysian roots, and wanted to have a balance between local and international ingredients for my very own KitKat creation. KitKat “Chocolatory” showcases every consumers’ uniqueness by allowing them to create their own creations and I can’t wait to see the outcome,” said Anis.

To celebrate the store opening a limited edition Royal Selection “Tengku Amir’s Jom Rileks Break” a decadent eight-finger KitKat with sultana, apricot, orange and almonds in milk chocolate will be sold at the KitKat “Chocolatory”. All proceeds from the Royal Selection “Tengku Amir’s Jom Rileks Break” will be presented to Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj’s chosen charity Selangor Cheshire Home.

KitKat “Chocolatory” also allows for consumers to get ahead of the crowd by being able to order their customized KitKat fingers online for home delivery exclusively through 11street (www.11street.my).
