ACCORHOTELS CELEBRATE THE SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY : STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENTS AT INDUSTRY AWARDS CEREMONY

November 29, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

The School of Hospitality (SOHOS) of INTI International College Subang (IICS) recently organized an industry awards ceremony as an opportunity to celebrate the students’ achievements.

‘A Night With The Stars’ welcomed industry partners including Accorhotels brands such as Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside, Pullman Kuching, Pullman KL Bangsar, Ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park, Ibis Styles Sandakan, Ibis Styles Ipoh, and Novotel KL City Centre to honor accomplishments not restricted to academic, but encompassing skills such as teamwork, professionalism, volunteering, and creativity.

The awards presentation ceremony saw representatives from all three Accorhotels brands rewarding hardworking students from the food & beverage and hospitality faculty who bagged various awards such as Most Creative Student, Most Successful SOHOS Alumni, Best SOHOS Volunteer, SOHOS Student With Most Professional Attitude, Best All Around Certificate Student, SOHOS Student With Greatest Potential (Hospitality), SOHOS Best Team Player and Most Improved Student. All winners won themselves two days one night hotel accomodation with complimentary buffet breakfast for two at Pullman, Novotel and Ibis properties across Malaysia.

The awards ceremony was also a chance to show appreciation to Accorhotels as well as other key players within the hospitality industry for the invaluable partnership throughought the years. Hotel partners had lent support through internships, industry visits and talks that help bridge the gap between education and industry requirements. Andrew Pennington, former dean of SOHOS at IICS said, ‘’these first awards were created to motivate students to aspire and perform better in these areas, and I look forward to making this an annual event.’’

Accorhotels officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IICS on 1 September 2015 for a mutually beneficial collaboration.
