GIFT & SHARE WITH ROYAL PLAZA ON SCOTTS FOR THE LESS PRIVILEGED THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

December 9, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

For Christmas this year, bring a smile to a child! Royal Plaza on Scotts teams up with Food for the Heart (FFTH) to encourage the public to do their part in spreading some festive cheer to less privileged children. Aptly named Toys from the Heart, the programme allows guests and the general public to donate their pre-loved toys, which are still in good condition, by placing them in the Gift & Share donation box. These donations will then go to FFTH to be distributed to the beneficiaries.

In addition to the collection, the hotel is also putting adorable limited edition Carl Bears up for adoption. With a minimum donation of $18, guests can bring Carl home for Christmas and do good at the same time. They can also pen down their wishes for Christmas on specially designed Christmas on the Little Red Dot wishing cards and hang them on one of the eight Christmas trees placed in front of the hotel. This initiative is in line with the ComChest Care & Share SG50 Light-Up campaign that celebrates Singapore’s 50 years of independence. The wishing cards are available with a minimum donation of $2.

Award-winning buffet restaurant, Carousel, will also be sharing blessings with the less privileged by donating $2 for every diner for the month of December. If diners wish to add on to the contributions, they can drop off their contributions in Care & Share boxes located at the restaurant’s entrance and hotel’s lobby.

Hi-5, the popular Australian children’s musical group, who is in town for the Hi-5 House Hits, show their support for the charity initiatives with a photo together with the hotel’s Gift & Share donation box, wishing cards and Carl Bears to call for all to join in and do their part for the less privileged. Royal Plaza on Scotts is the official hotel for Hi-5 House Hits Singapore Show.

This Christmas charity campaign will be on-going for the whole month of December. All proceeds will go to the Community Chest and will be matched $1-for-$1 by the government as part of the Care & Share Movement.
