Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur Presents The Journey Of CacaoA Five Course Pairing Experience Exploring Malaysia’sMost Remarkable Ingredients

July 7, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

Every remarkable chocolate begins with a story of Cacao. This July, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur invites guests to discover that story through The Journey of Malaysian Cacao, an exclusive five course pairing experience presented at Cacao Mixology & Chocolate. The evening explores Malaysian cacao beyond its familiar form, revealing the ingredient through contemporary pastry, thoughtfully curated wines and signature cocktails. While Malaysia has long been recognised for producing exceptional cacao, its story remains largely untold. Grown across regions including Sabah, Sarawak and Pahang, Malaysian cacao reflects the country’s diverse landscapes and growing craftsmanship. The Journey of Malaysian Cacao brings these origins into focus, celebrating one of the nation’s finest ingredients through an immersive dining experience that places cacao at the centre of every course.

Guided by Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh and the culinary team at Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, the experience unfolds across five stages — I. Aroma, II. Discovery, III. Terroir, IV. Dialogue and V. Signature. Each stage has been thoughtfully designed to reveal a different dimension of Malaysian cacao, inviting guests to experience its evolution through flavour, texture and aroma. Rather than serving as a traditional accompaniment, every wine and cocktail has been carefully selected to become part of the narrative. From elegant sparkling wines and distinguished vintages to a bespoke cocktail created exclusively for the evening, each pairing transforms the perception of cacao, creating a dialogue between the plate and the glass that unfolds throughout the experience.

Limited to twelve guests, the evening has been intentionally designed to encourage conversation, discovery and a deeper appreciation of Malaysian cacao. With every course presented sequentially, guests are guided through a carefully paced experience where storytelling, craftsmanship and hospitality come together in an intimate setting.

“Chocolate is often celebrated for its final form, yet every remarkable chocolate begins with cacao,” said Executive Pastry Chef Holger Deh. “Through this experience, we wanted to celebrate the ingredient itself and explore how thoughtful pairings can transform the way it is perceived, creating new discoveries with every course.” The Journey of Malaysian Cacao reflects Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s continued commitment to championing exceptional local ingredients through contemporary gastronomy and meaningful guest experiences.
