Hidden Table: Voyage of the Titanic

July 21, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

The lights go out. Silence settles. Waves crash in the distance. And then, a voice draws you back in time:

“It is April 10th, 1912. The air is crisp in Southampton as final farewells echo across the docks. You are among the select few stepping aboard a marvel of mankind — the R.M.S. Titanic…”

Thus begins Hidden Table: Voyage of the Titanic, the latest multisensory production by Carousel at Royal Plaza on Scotts, marking the return of Singapore’s groundbreaking “sensory theatre of taste and storytelling.” Following the intrigue and acclaim of its first season, Hidden Table sails again — this time charting the story of history’s most iconic ocean liner.

But this is no ordinary dinner. No ambient lighting. No distractions. Just you, a table, and four vivid chapters told entirely through taste, scent, sound — and absolute darkness.

Dining Without Sight, Tasting With All Senses

Part fine dining experience, part theatrical performance, Voyage of the Titanic invites guests into a pitch-black space where a meticulously choreographed tasting menu unfolds alongside a narrated drama. Each act of the evening corresponds to a moment aboard the Titanic — from the excitement of departure to the ship’s poignant final hours.

Courses are inspired by the ship’s original First Class menu, artfully modernised to mirror the grandeur and emotion of the voyage. Diners are guided only by voice and intuition. There are moments of interaction, surprise, and subtle cues that ask guests to reach, wear, or hold — fully engaging every sense but sight.

“We call it theatre you can taste,” shares Mr Dharmik Kumar, General Manager of Royal Plaza on Scotts. “The darkness strips away distractions and heightens awareness. Suddenly, the clink of cutlery, the rustle of napkin, even your own breath becomes part of the story.”

A Timely Journey, A Limited Engagement

Hidden Table: Voyage of the Titanic will open on 25 July 2025, with limited sessions held Thursday to Sunday weekly. The journey begins at Palm Café, Level 5 of Royal Plaza on Scotts, where diners will be discreetly ushered into the darkened performance space. Each session is priced at $98++ per person.

In celebration of Singapore’s SG60 milestone, a special $60++ per person promotional rate is available with a minimum booking of two guests — an offer as irresistible as the experience itself.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a food lover seeking the extraordinary, or simply curious about what it means to eat in the dark, Hidden Table: Voyage of the Titanic promises an unforgettable evening — one where flavours speak louder than words, and every sense comes alive.
