Hidden Table, a Carousel Collection: Singapore’s First Halal Dine in the Dark Experience

April 12, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

Royal Plaza on Scotts is proud to announce Hidden Table, a Carousel Collection, Singapore’s first Halal dine-in-the-dark experience. This one-of-a-kind concept invites diners to step into complete darkness and embark on a sensory journey where taste, texture, and aroma are elevated to an art form.

Your journey begins at Palm Café, located on Level 5 of Royal Plaza on Scotts, where guests will first savour the enchanting Elixir of the Forgotten Dusk. From there, they step into the shadows, cloaked in darkness, leaving behind sources of illumination and preconceptions in their designated lockers. Every element—touch, smell, sound—comes alive to craft this unforgettable voyage.

From the moment guests take their first sip of the enchanted welcome drink, they are transported into a world where sight dissolves and the four senses awaken. In the absence of light, curiosity takes the lead, guided by whispers of unseen wings and the soft hum of an enchanted forest.

Guided by a silent guardian owl, diners venture deeper into the unknown. Each course unfolds as a chapter in a journey, beginning with The New World. Here, textures and sounds mimic the vastness of perpetual night—a cool breeze brushes against the skin, and distant echoes of water and swaying trees stir the imagination. This is the moment of awakening, like the birth of a chick breaking free from its shell, delicate yet full of promise.

With the next course, guests enter the forest – The Forest Awakening, where mist envelops them and unseen flora brushes against their fingertips. Crisp fragments crackle like whispers in the wind, while bold tastes hint at secrets hidden deep within the forest.

The adventure continues into The Enchanted Woodland, as the scene shifts. Our voyager finds themselves in the forest where earthy scent of the wood fills the air. Guests feel the gentle caress of vines or grass on their skin, grounding them in this new realm. Finally, they descend into The Undergrowth, a hidden underworld where layered flavours evolve against the richness of the fruits of the earth.

“The Hidden Table journey is a theatrical twist on fine dining—where your senses awaken in complete darkness, and every course becomes part of a dramatic, guided experience.

More than a meal. It’s a performance you’ll feel.

Each ‘act’ is here for a limited run —miss it now, and it’s gone.”

— Chef Darren Ong, Executive Head Chef

To mark its grand opening, Hidden Table, a Carousel Collection invites guests to experience this one-of-a-kind journey for S$78 per guest (regularly S$98), for a limited time. Opening its doors on 16 April 2025 onward, every Wednesday to Sunday, this immersive experience invites guests to step into the shadows and uncover a new world of flavour.
