Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur Unveils Three New & Creative Dining Concepts Designed To Gather And Inspire

February 21, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

As Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur welcomes travellers into the bustling city’s newest art and community-centric hub, the hotel also beckons guests to explore three new and creative dining concepts that offer diners a chance to experience diverse cuisines. Promising a gastronomic adventure of authenticity and experimentation, IL Forno, TanBuri, and @21 Rooftop Bar serve menus suited for every occasion — from handmade pizzas meant for sharing with friends and family to innovative rice bowls perfectly crafted for one and bold, flavorful quesadillas to complement your beverage of choice — right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

IL Forno: A Taste of Authentic Italian Heritage by Executive Chef Vincenzo Carbone.

Nestled on the entirety of Level 19, IL Forno is an authentic Italian trattoria designed to immerse guests in a true culinary experience that follows Chef Vincenzo’s — affectionately known as Chef Enzo — own journey. Featuring four unique dining environments within a reimagined industrial space, IL Forno combines industrial elements inspired by the city’s mining history with clean lines and vibrant graffiti, creating a space unlike any other Italian dining establishment in the city.

As guests emerge onto Level 19, they are welcomed into four distinctive spaces, each offering a unique dining experience. The entrance features an inviting bar area with a generous countertop, ideal for large groups or individuals looking to connect. Just outside, the al fresco terrazza provides a charming setting to savor Italian soft serve, light snacks, or indulge in apéritif and cocktails while enjoying an elevated view of Kuala Lumpur’s central business district. The lounge area in the centre offers a cozy retreat for casual gatherings or a quiet moment over a hot cup of coffee.

But at the heart of IL Forno lies its open kitchen, where diners can witness culinary artistry in action — the highlight of which is the customized pizza oven imported from Italy, which serves as the foundation for the restaurant’s menu. Here, handmade Pizza Napoletana and artisanal breads are made to order, paying homage to Chef Enzo’s roots in Naples. The artisanal pizza dough undergoes a slow maturation process for 36 hours, ensuring a light yet flavorful crust, and is then baked at 430 degrees for just 90 seconds to create a perfect balance of crispiness and chew.

“IL Forno in Italian means ‘the oven,’ and our entire restaurant concept is built around what we can create and enjoy from this essential culinary tool,” said Chef Vincenzo Carbone, Executive Chef of Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur. “Not only do we craft authentic Pizza Napoletana, but we also prepare dishes such as artisanal lasagna made from handmade pasta sheets, as well as a variety of our antipasti and main courses.” The open kitchen concept allows diners to interact with chefs while experiencing the impressive oven firsthand, making each visit a memorable journey into regional Italian cuisine.

TanBuri: Creative Flavors for Every Moment

Located on the Ground Floor of the hotel is TanBuri, the first tandoori-inspired concept featuring an open kitchen with three custom-built tandoori charcoal ovens. This culinary innovation reinvents traditional flavors through the intense heat of tandoor cooking to create mouthwatering dishes served donburi-style, encouraging curiosity and delight in its diners.

A standout feature of TanBuri is its use of coconut charcoal, which enhances the flavor of the food during the cooking process. The menu showcases a diverse range of flavors, from the signature Nanini—tandoori-based sandwiches—to locally-inspired breakfast delights such as Nasi Lemak Pandan with Tandoori Chicken and Breakfast Nanini. The selection extends to favorites like Roti Canai, rice bowls infused with international flavors cooked in the tandoor, artisan naan bread, and a Tandoori Platter. To end on a sweet note, TanBuri offers soft serve ice creams in Mango, Coconut, and a tropical mix.

@21 Rooftop Bar: A Front Seat To Kuala Lumpur’s Skyline

Rising above the city on Level 21, @21 Rooftop Bar offers a glamorous rooftop experience with direct views of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. This sophisticated sky bar is designed to impress, featuring multi-level seating, an open-air terrace, and a vibrant atmosphere – right next to the hotel’s outdoor saltwater pool.

Central to the venue is an illuminated bar that sets the mood for electric evening gatherings. Guests can unwind with quesadillas served piping hot from the teppan grill, featuring bold flavors such as Larb Gai and Beef Rendang. For an added layer of customization, guests can choose between homemade corn or wheat flour tortillas, ensuring an experience tailored to their preference.

Complementing the food offerings is an extensive cocktail and mocktail selection, crafted to enhance the rooftop vibe. Signature cocktails with cool names as they are colorful include the Señorita Sting, Tropic Like It’s Hot and Vibe Check, alongside timeless classics like the Blue Hawaiian and The Godfather. For non-alcoholic options, mocktails such as the Butterfly Hana, Exotic Centric, and Jack-O-Jack deliver refreshing bursts of flavor.

By day, @21 Rooftop Bar offers a serene escape by the infinity pool, perfect for an afternoon of relaxation. As the sun sets, the space transforms into a lively rooftop hotspot, ideal for unwinding with expertly mixed drinks and a stunning skyline backdrop.

For a seamless experience, a spiral staircase connects @21 Rooftop Bar to IL Forno on Level 19, allowing guests to explore both venues with ease.
