PAVILION DAMANSARA HEIGHTS BRINGS ‘HEIGHTS OF HAPPINESS’ TO LIFE THIS CHINESE NEW YEAR

January 8, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

The Chinese New Year is a time of joy, tradition, and togetherness, and Pavilion Damansara Heights is taking the celebration to new heights. From now until 12 February 2025, visitors can immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere filled with cultural wonders, vibrant decorations, exciting activities, and exclusive rewards. This year’s theme, “Bringing Happiness to Life,” blends heritage with modernity to create a truly memorable experience for all.

A Grand Cultural Showcase

One of the highlights of this year’s celebration is the Chinese Culture Diorama Display, presented in partnership with the World Culture Organisation (WCO). Spanning an impressive 93 feet in length, this breathtaking display showcases four iconic themes: China 5 Dynasties Banquet Celebration, Old Beijing, Malaysia Chinese New Year, and Journey to the West. This exhibit reflects the richness of Chinese heritage, allowing visitors to step back in time and witness the grandeur of historical festivities. The display is located at Damanlela Main Entrance and Level 2 (near Clarins), offering a spectacular visual journey for all.

A Festive Wonderland at Centre Court

Stepping into Centre Court on Level 2, visitors will be greeted by towering festive icons – a 12-foot Panda and a 14-foot Red Bear, standing proudly amid dazzling decorations. The atmosphere is further enhanced by a bustling marketplace, where shoppers can browse through booths offering delightful festive treats, traditional Chinese snacks, herbal teas, fruit blends, and beautifully curated gift hampers. These make perfect gifts for family and friends, adding warmth and thoughtfulness to the season of giving.

For families, the Family Fun Zone at Centre Court offers an exciting playground of life-size Snakes & Ladders, modern arcade games, and a themed photo booth. Children and adults alike can enjoy endless fun, creating lasting memories through laughter and play.

Traditions and Blessings for the New Year

No Chinese New Year celebration is complete without auspicious traditions, and Pavilion Damansara Heights ensures that visitors can take part in these meaningful rituals. The Auspicious Wishing Tree invites shoppers to write down their heartfelt wishes for health, happiness, and prosperity and hang them on the tree. As a special gesture, eight lucky shoppers will be randomly selected to receive an exclusive gift, bringing fortune and joy to their New Year.

Calligraphy, a timeless art form, is also celebrated this season in collaboration with The Federation of Calligraphy Society Malaysia. This year, renowned calligraphy master Mr. Ng Swee Kheng has designed an exclusive ang pow set featuring the Chinese character “喜” (happiness). These unique red packets are not only lucky tokens but also collectible pieces of art. Visitors can further immerse themselves in the beauty of calligraphy at the Calligraphy Art Exhibition and enjoy live calligraphy giveaways on select dates throughout January.

Exciting Rewards and Performances

To make the shopping experience even more rewarding, Pavilion Damansara Heights is offering exclusive festive rewards. Shoppers who spend a minimum of RM100 (in two receipts) can redeem a specially designed ang pow set and free 2-hour parking. Meanwhile, those who spend RM288 or RM588 in a single receipt can receive additional gifts worth up to RM70. From 8 January 2025 onwards, shoppers who spend RM288 in a single receipt can also redeem an exclusive Scroll Set featuring handwritten auspicious blessings by renowned calligraphy masters.

Beyond shopping, visitors can look forward to a series of prosperous performances that bring the spirit of Chinese New Year to life. From energetic lion dances to captivating traditional music and dance performances, the celebrations promise to be filled with excitement and cultural appreciation. Featuring performances by Peekaboo Music Performance, D’Rhyme, Jasmine Dance Studio, and more, Pavilion Damansara Heights offers an unforgettable lineup of entertainment throughout the festive season.

A Feast for the Senses – Festive Dining and New Openings

Food is an essential part of the Chinese New Year celebration, and Pavilion Damansara Heights offers a delightful selection of festive dining options. Visitors can indulge in special holiday menus at Dragon-I Peking Duck, Oriental Kopi, Din Tai Fung, Fei Fan Hotpot, Samy & Min Bak Kut Teh, Siong Tong Gai, The Travelling Duck, and more. For those looking for something new, Pavilion Damansara Heights proudly welcomes the first-in-Malaysia Da Fu Di, alongside a variety of new dining establishments, including Paris Baguette, %Arabica, La Boca Latino Bar & Grill, and Toast Maker. Whether it’s a luxurious family reunion dinner or a casual meal with friends, the mall offers endless culinary delights to satisfy every palate.

New Shopping and Lifestyle Experiences

In addition to dining, visitors can explore newly opened fashion, lifestyle, and urban leisure stores, including August Store, Arabian Oud, Converse, Reebok, Ted Baker London, Maglifestyle, and Fa’iq Jewels. Those seeking relaxation and self-care can visit Siam Oasis Royale, Tree Art, Petit Parc, and Futurum Academy, adding a refreshing touch to their shopping experience.
