Chinese New Year is a cherished season of togetherness, joy, and abundance. It’s a time to celebrate with loved ones and indulge in auspicious dishes that symbolize prosperity, longevity, and happiness. This year, Pullman Hotel Kuala Lumpur City Center’s Red Chinese Restaurant invites you to experience the Joy of Prosperity Sets, a luxurious menu crafted to elevate your festive celebrations. We had the honor of sampling this exquisite menu, and every dish was a masterpiece that combined traditional flavors with modern culinary artistry. Here’s a closer look at what makes this menu truly special:

Prosperity Yee Sang with Soft Shell Crab

No Chinese New Year celebration is complete without the iconic Yee Sang. Their yee sang comes with the fresh, vibrant vegetables and crispy crackers are complemented by golden-fried soft-shell crab, making it the centerpiece of the feast. Tossed in a luscious plum sauce, this dish balances sweetness and tang while symbolizing prosperity and unity for the year ahead.

Double-boiled Chicken Soup with Fish Maw and Dried Scallop

This soul-warming soup is a celebration of premium ingredients. Love the delicate fish maw and dried scallops infuse the rich broth with umami and depth, while the double-boiling technique brings out the natural flavors.

Roasted Rice Spice London Duck

The star of the menu, this dish features duck roasted to perfection with fragrant rice spices. The crispy skin and tender, juicy meat deliver a smoky, savory flavor that’s both indulgent and satisfying. It’s a true testament to the culinary expertise at Red Chinese Restaurant.

Steamed Tiger Grouper with Superior Sauce

Freshness takes center stage in this elegant dish. The tiger grouper is steamed to preserve its natural sweetness, enhanced by a superior soy-based sauce that adds depth without overpowering the fish. A dish that’s simple yet refined, it’s bound to impress every palate.

Crispy Prawn Meat with Pomelo Sauce

This dish offers a delightful interplay of textures and flavors. Crispy, succulent prawns are paired with a tangy-sweet pomelo sauce, which adds a refreshing citrus twist and a subtle bitterness that balances the richness of the seafood.

Braised Whole Abalone, Sea Cucumber, and Bean Curd Roll with Vegetables

A luxurious trio of premium ingredients, this dish is a harmonious blend of textures and flavors. The tender abalone, silky sea cucumber, and aromatic bean curd roll are bathed in a rich braised sauce and served with fresh greens, symbolizing wealth, health, and longevity.

Mini Lotus Rice with Dried Oyster and Salted Egg Yolk

Served in fragrant lotus leaves, this dish is a burst of savory goodness. Smoky dried oyster and creamy salted egg yolk are packed into sticky rice, creating a rich and satisfying bite that encapsulates the festive spirit.

Chilled Osmanthus Oolong Tea with Peach Gum & Snow Bird’s Nest and Chinese New Year Rice Cakes

The dessert course is a refreshing end to the meal. The floral notes of chilled Osmanthus Oolong Tea pair beautifully with the jelly-like texture of peach gum and the delicacy of snow bird’s nest. Traditional Chinese New Year rice cakes provide a nostalgic touch, rounding off the meal on a sweet note.
