Vietjet Soars Higher as Inaugural Flights Between Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi Take Off

December 6, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Vietjet, the airline that continues to redefine affordable air travel, has just taken connectivity to new heights with the commencement of its direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi. This marks a significant milestone in strengthening connectivity between Malaysia and Vietnam, giving travellers from Malaysia more options to enjoy Vietjet’s iconic service and value, while bridging the two political, economic and cultural centers in Southeast Asia.

Flight VJ905, carrying Vietjet’s first passengers on its new route, took off from Hanoi on 28 November 2024 and touched down at KLIA Terminal 2 just before noon. Several hours later, Flight VJ906 landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi with eager travellers from Malaysia ready to explore the capital city of Vietnam.

Since launching its first Malaysian route between Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietjet has been dedicated to providing high-quality service while expanding its international network. The airline now operates daily round-trip flights on the Kuala Lumpur–Hanoi route, increasing its total weekly flights between Vietnam and Malaysia to 14.

This expansion comes at an ideal time, aligning with the year-end school holidays and peak travel season, as tourism between the two countries continues to grow. Looking ahead to 2025, the new route is expected to further boost travel between Vietnam and Malaysia, complementing preparations already underway for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

As the political and cultural heart of Vietnam, Hanoi is one of Asia’s most-visited destinations. The thousand-year-old city blends nostalgic vibe with contemporary energy, featuring iconic landmarks such as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the Temple of Literature. Hanoi is also renowned for its thriving street food scene and serves as a gateway to Vietnam’s stunning landscapes and other major Asian cities.

To entice travellers who are planning their next adventures, Vietjet’s “Green Friday” promotion, which runs from now until 31 December 2024, offers one-way tickets from as low as RM166 (inclusive of taxes and fees) every Friday. Tickets can be booked via www.vietjetair.com or the Vietjet Air mobile app, with travel dates spanning into 2025 (terms and conditions apply).

Flying with Vietjet offers passengers a delightful experience, including meals featuring Vietnamese and international favorites like Pho Thin and Banh Mi. Served by professional and attentive crew members on modern, eco-friendly aircraft, passengers also benefit from complimentary Sky Care insurance and can enjoy unique cultural and artistic programs at an altitude of 10,000 meters.
