McCormick Embarks on New Era of Transformation in Southeast Asia Led by Brand Campaign and New Innovations

November 25, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

McCormick, a global leader in herbs, spices, and seasonings, is embarking on a transformative journey in Southeast Asia (SEA) through its latest brand campaign, “Create Fresh Memories with McCormick.” With a history spanning over 135 years, the brand is elevating its connection with consumers through innovative packaging, exciting new products, and heartfelt storytelling.

Celebrating Culinary Memories

Under the leadership of Priya Sharma, Managing Director of McCormick India-Southeast Asia, the campaign seeks to honor the role of McCormick products in shaping memorable meal moments. “We aim to help our consumers recreate cherished culinary memories within a modern lifestyle context,” she shared. The brand’s newly redesigned packaging is a testament to this mission, ensuring McCormick remains an essential companion for home cooks of every skill level.

Meet the Spice Stars

At the heart of the campaign are McCormick’s first-ever Spice Stars in Malaysia:

Michelle Yeong: A content creator inspiring simple and nourishing home cooking.

Syifa Jamil: An award-winning creator blending traditional and modern culinary techniques.

Abdul Qayyum Halid (chesayangkitchen): Known for his engaging “2-minute, 1 recipe” videos that simplify delicious cooking.

Through the campaign, these Spice Stars will share personal recipes inspired by cherished food memories, reimagined using McCormick’s iconic flavours. Abdul Qayyum, for example, revisits childhood nostalgia through fried chicken, a reward he fondly associates with academic achievements.

Innovative Packaging for Modern Kitchens

McCormick’s updated packaging reflects a deep commitment to sustainability and user convenience. Notable features include:

Glass Bottles: A shift from plastic for sustainability.

SnapTight™ Lid: Locks in freshness for longer-lasting flavours.

Enhanced Design: Transparent labels, prominent best-by dates, and dual-function lids for easy sprinkling or spoon access.

These innovations ensure McCormick’s herbs and spices retain their superior quality and flavor, making meal preparation effortless and enjoyable.

New Products for Malaysia’s Unique Palate

McCormick is catering to Malaysian consumers with exciting new products, including:

Grill Mates BBQ Sauces: Featuring local-inspired flavors like Spicy Korean and Sichuan Mala.

Shake Shake Black Pepper & Truffle Flavoured Seasoning: Perfect for modern tastes.

Air Fryer Marinade Mixes: Designed for quick, delicious meals using air fryers.

These offerings reflect the brand’s dedication to meeting the evolving preferences of SEA consumers while staying true to its legacy of flavor excellence.

Beyond products, McCormick is resonating with younger audiences through creative campaigns like AI-produced Recipe Mixtapes on Instagram and TikTok. These interactive videos blend fun and culinary inspiration, sparking immense online engagement and enthusiasm for McCormick’s offerings.

As McCormick continues to innovate and expand its offerings, it remains committed to preserving its legacy of quality while adapting to modern culinary trends. With more products and campaigns on the horizon, McCormick is poised to solidify its place as a trusted partner in creating lasting food memories across Southeast Asia.
