Show Us Your Tricks and Conquer the Flip!

September 1, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Skateboarding is not just about athleticism, it is a sport of emotions. The exhilaration of learning new tricks, the pain when we fail a trick, and the excitement and pure satisfaction we experience when we land a trick. It is a sport to love. That is what you showed us at the Flip It Up event at the Urban Skate Park at Ampang Plaza on 8 August.

In a successful celebration of the skateboarding community, five hundred of you came together for an exciting weekend of competition, creativity, and culture. A whopping 48 skateboarders, both locally and from Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia, duked it out in the Game of Skate to win exciting prizes.  It was an incredible moment of passion and energy with the community as we ate, played and created together.

Good news! The skate did not stop at the park and we want to see more! Samsung Malaysia is excited to continue supporting the growth of the skateboarding community to Conquer The Flip by setting up a Galaxy Z Flip6 shaped skate sculpture at MRT Pasar Seni, calling all skateboarders to show us your gnarliest tricks on the ramp and rail.

More than an object, the sculpture is a monument to the skateboarding culture, a symbol to empower skateboarders to express and challenge themselves at the next level. To the Gen Zs and the movers and doers of world, Samsung is excited to celebrate the captivating spirits that never give up, the attitudes that dare and the absolutely jaw dropping tricks and moves you have showed us this year, both locally and globally.

From 28 August to 8 September 2024, show us your best trick on the one of a kind loading bay-style structure and post it on your Instagram feed with the hashtag #FlipItUpMY #GalaxyZFlip6 #GalaxyAI.  Two winners will each receive the grand prize in the form of a RM1,000 voucher to purchase their favourite skating products at Burrow Skateshop, and 5 winners will get to walk away with a pair of Vans sneakers.
