It’s staycation time! We decided to indulge in a fun-filled getaway with the kids without even leaving the city. This time, our destination was the heart of Kuala Lumpur, where we chose the Dorsett Hotel. Known for its recent renovations and introduction of thematic rooms, Dorsett offers a unique experience. Our pick? The captivating Space Theme Room.

A Unique Room Experience

As we stepped into our staycation haven, we discovered a thoughtful layout featuring two sections: a family room and the themed room, connected by a link door. This setup is perfect for families—parents can enjoy some relaxing me-time while the kids dive into their imaginative space adventure.

The beds were wonderfully comfortable, with enough space to accommodate a family of four. Clean and inviting, the beds made it easy to drift off into a good night’s sleep. The comfort of the bedding was matched by the convenience of the room’s amenities, which included everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Eco-Friendly Touches and Amenities

In line with Dorsett’s green initiatives, there are no plastic water bottles in the room. Instead, they provide filtered water that you can enjoy anytime. This small but significant touch aligns with the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and ensures guests have access to fresh water without harming the environment.

The rooms are equipped with all the essentials, including an iron, a safe box, and more. While there is no bathtub, the water pressure in the shower is excellent, and the rain shower feature makes for a refreshing bath. The bathroom is well-designed and functional, providing a pleasant experience with every use.

The Thematic Room Delight

The Space Theme Room is a visual treat with its spectacular space-themed decor. The room is designed to look like a cosmic adventure, complete with a mini telescope in a cozy corner for the kids to explore the ‘stars’. There are also space-themed stationery items that the children can use for drawing, coloring, and other creative activities.

One of the standout features is the star light, which adds a magical touch to the room, along with space-themed cups that enhance the immersive experience. The attention to detail in the decor makes the room not just a place to sleep but a part of the adventure itself.

Fun Beyond the Room: Petrosains Malaysia

The staycation package includes tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids to Petrosains Malaysia, located in KLCC. This outing was a highlight of our staycation, offering a fun and educational experience for the whole family. The kids were thrilled to learn about science, from basic concepts to advanced topics like gravity, physics, space, robotics, and more.

We spent around 2-3 hours at Petrosains, enjoying quality bonding time while learning together. The interactive exhibits and engaging displays captivated the children’s attention and provided an excellent educational opportunity that was both entertaining and informative.

Dining and Other Amenities

The Dorsett Hotel also offers a range of dining options that cater to all tastes. From hearty breakfasts to exquisite dinners, the hotel’s restaurants serve a variety of cuisines that promise to satisfy. During our stay, we enjoyed a delightful breakfast buffet featuring a mix of local and international dishes. The variety and quality of the food made each meal a pleasurable experience.
