Marriott Bonvoy Launches Be Bus, The First-Of-Its-Kind Recruitment Roadshow Throughout Peninsula Malaysia

June 26, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Marriott Bonvoy is thrilled to announce the launch of Be Bus, its latest recruitment drive across Peninsular Malaysia, aimed at attracting top local talent to support the company’s ambitious growth and innovation plans in Malaysia. This initiative marks a significant step in the brand’s commitment to expanding its workforce and nurturing capabilities to meet the ever-evolving needs of guests and the industry.

The First-Of-Its-Kind Recruitment Roadshow with Marriott Bonvoy Be Bus

At a flag-off event held today at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre, the 44-seater Marriott Bonvoy Be Bus was officially flagged off by George Varughese, Multi Property Vice President, Putrajaya and Greater Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Marriott International, to begin a week-long journey through several states in Malaysia. In collaboration with PERKESO MyFutureJobs, the Marriott Bonvoy Be Bus will visit several cities, as well as provincial towns, making pit stops at universities, colleges, PERKESO offices and PERKESO-appointed offices to recruit and connect with local talent to join the family of 7,000 associates in 50 Marriott Bonvoy hotels and resorts across Malaysia:

26 June 2024 Kompleks Belia & Sukan Panji, Kelantan, Kota Bharu

27 June 2024 UiTM Kampus Dungun, Kuala Terengganu

29 June 2024 Wisma PERKESO, Johor Bahru

30 June 2024 Pejabat PERKESO Negeri Sembilan, Seremban

2 July 2024 Wisma PERKESO, Alor Setar

3 July 2024 Wisma PERKESO, Ipoh

An intentional nod to Marriott Bonvoy’s people brand, Be, the Marriott Bonvoy Be Bus highlights three distinct pillars of: begin, belong, become. With the goal of attracting and retaining top talent, Be empowers associates to fulfil their career goals, further reinforcing Marriott’s commitment to creating a culture of inclusion and developing local talent, reinforcing Marriott International as an employer of choice in line with its commitment in investing in its associates.

“We are excited to launch the Marriott Bonvoy Be Bus, our very first recruitment roadshow in Malaysia. We are focused on expanding and elevating our hospitality workforce to align with Marriott’s stance for continued growth in the country.  We will continue to build on our people-first culture and offer innovative opportunities to grow professionally and personally through this initiative,” said Ramesh Jackson, Area Vice President, Malaysia and Indonesia, Marriott International. “With over 50 hotels and resorts across Malaysia, we hope to develop and grow empowered leaders who cater to diverse talent preferences and continue to position our company as the ideal place of employment.”

The launch of the Marriott Bonvoy Be Bus follows hot on the heels of the release of Kumandang, a song and music video released in May 2024, a collaboration between Marriott Bonvoy and Malaysian artiste Alif Satar and The Locos, aimed at elevating hospitality service culture in Malaysia.

Each pitstop is open to the public and visitors are invited to meet Marriott Bonvoy associates to discover exciting employment opportunities at Marriott Bonvoy hotels and resorts throughout the country. Attendees are invited to apply for jobs on the spot and face-to-face interviews will be conducted. In addition, fun activities such as a Marriott Bonvoy Crosswords, Q&A sessions, and contests to win brand merchandise and other prizes are up for grabs.

Those who visit the Marriott Bonvoy Be Bus’ pit stops or spot it between 26 June and 3 July 2024, may participate in a social media contest to win amazing stays at Marriott Bonvoy hotels and resorts. Participants are encouraged to snap a photo of the Marriott Bonvoy Be Bus, and post their photo or video on Instagram together with the following caption completed in a creative way: “Dream of a career with Marriott Bonvoy hotels? I would like to work with Marriott Bonvoy because …” So long as participants use the following hashtags, entries with the most creative captions win daily prizes! #BeBus #MarriottBeBus #MarriottBonvoy #MarriottInternational
