Bar Trigona, at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur, celebrates Regional Top 10 Honour in the 2024 Spirited Awards®

Repeatedly awarded ‘Malaysia’s Best Bar’, Bar Trigona at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur has again been honoured in the 2024 Spirited Awards. Regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the industry, the Spirited Awards honour excellence in the drinks industry and showcase the best of the global cocktail community. Bar Trigona is in the 2024 Top 10 Best International Hotel Bar list for the Asia Pacific region, having twice before been selected for this honour (in 2020 and 2022).

“We’re thrilled and very proud to be recognised again as one of the Top 10 hotel bars in the Asia Pacific region,” said Rohan Matmary, Bar Trigona’s Head Bartender. “The team at Bar Trigona prides itself on providing every guest who walks into our bar with a warmth of service that is ubiquitous, and a cocktail experience that surpasses their expectations. Our latest menu, ‘Colour Me Curious,’ is a celebration of the colours, aromas and regional flavours of Malaysia, and it is wonderful to see that our industry peers on the Spirited Awards Regional Committee for APAC feel we are deserving of this honour.”

Bar Trigona received its first Top 10 Regional Honour for ‘Best New Cocktail Bar’ in the 2019 Spirited Awards, following its launch in 2018. Since then, the bar has won Malaysia’s Best Bar 2020-23; #36 on Asia’s Best Bars List 2023; the Ketel One Sustainable Award in 2020 and the Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu Award in 2022.

The bar is celebrated not only for its exceptional service and ambiance, but also for its unique ‘farm to bottle’ approach to modern mixology. The team at Bar Trigona works in close partnership with local farmers and food producers, supporting their work, as well as promoting sustainable practices and the conservation of the remarkable local Trigona honey bee species. The result is that guests at the bar can enjoy cocktails vibrantly crafted from the produce of these farms, while taking in views of Kuala Lumpur from the sumptuous venue’s floor to ceiling windows.

Established in 2007 to honour excellence in the drinks industry, the Spirited Awards – in partnership with Forbes, the official media partner – has grown into one of the most internationally prestigious recognitions. Broken into geographical regions: Asia Pacific (APAC), Canada, Europe, Latin America & Caribbean (LATAM&C), Middle East & Africa (MEA), U.S. Central, U.S. East, and U.S. West, the Spirited Awards Regional Top 10 Honourees represent a global class of cocktail teams and establishments that are making an indelible mark on their local cocktail communities – and beyond. The regional Top 10 nominees are voted for by a committee of industry peers.

“The Spirited Awards is crucial to our industry, not only as an award but also as an appreciation for every Regional Top 10 Honouree’s hard work and effort, which eventually motivates them to reach higher,” said Symphony Loo, Spirited Awards Asia Pacific (APAC) Co-Chair.

At the end of May, a global Top 10 ‘Best International Hotel Bar’ honourees list will be announced, from which four will go forward for the final awards which are held at a gala dinner during the Tales of the Cocktail® conference, taking place in New Orleans from July 21-26, 2024.
