Indulge in a divine gastronomic journey to the East Coast at Resorts World Awana

March 20, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

This Ramadan, let the tranquil, rainforest-enveloped oasis that is Resorts World Awana (RWA) transport you to the heart of Malay gastronomy with a divine selection of epicurean treasures from the East Coast!

Embark on a wondrous smorgasbord of creations and flavours from 12 March till 9 April 2024 at Jom Makan Awana as executive chef, Ahmad Rosnie brings to the fore a unique celebration of the season by presenting iconic and long forgotten traditional recipes with a twist of spice and organic herbs derived from the gardens of Resorts World Awana.

Relish smoky charcoal-tinged Ayam Percik, ulam and herb-infused Nasi Kerabu and an array of festive favourites such as Kambing Bakar, Sup Aneka, Rendang Tok, Singgang Kelantan, Ayam Cincalok, Urab Nangka and Tempe in a delightful, splendorous grand buffet. Channelling the exquisite flavours of yore to evoke nostalgia and curated to perfection, each time-honoured dish is an ode to the exotic traditions of the East Coast.

Don’t miss out on RWA’s immensely popular Gearbox Soup! Choose from a medley of artisanal offerings from kuih warisan tradisional like Seri Muka and Ondeh Ondeh to ice kacang, cakes and cookies to end your meal on a sweet note. Table reservations made from now till 17 March will enjoy an early bird rate of RM98 for adults and RM68 for children and senior citizens. Standard rates of RM118 for adults and RM98 for children and senior citizens apply for bookings after 17 March. Call +603 64369000 Ext 7605, whatsapp +6012 3096 521/+6017 7652 105 or email awanaf&[email protected] for enquiries.

For a taste of Middle Eastern decadence, head on over to AYU Awana and share in the communal joy of Ramadan with the scrumptious Nasi Arab Dulang, featuring a selection of succulent Lamb Shank, hearty Oxtail Stew, Charcoal Grilled Tilapia, and flavourful Lebanese Baked Chicken available only on the Selera AYU dinner menu from 11 March till 14 April, 6:00pm till 10:30pm! Elevate the savoury, full-bodied Arabic flavours with Raita, Arabic Salsa, aromatic Kabsa Rice and a refreshing side of salad and Lemon Tahini Grilled Vegetables. Indulge your sweet tooth and balance out the richness of your meal with heavenly Balah El Sham (churros) and Aish El Saraya (bread pudding) desserts! For reservations, call AYU Awana on 019-3903738.

Meanwhile, Resorts World Genting invites you to cherish and savour the camaraderie of Ramadan with tantalising, heritage-inspired flavours of a talam, kampung-style hidangan specially curated by chef extraordinaire, Hapizi Hussain from 12 March to 9 April 2024 at Jom Makan SkyAvenue Level G.

Inspired by classic recipes passed down through the generations but with a novel twist, the Set Dulang Ramadan for 3 pax dining features authentic and traditional Malay specialties like Kerabu Perut Lembu which is essentially a Northern-style dish comprising shredded beef tripe tossed with shallots, chilli, long beans, belacan, lemongrass, ginger flower and desiccated coconut milk; and Kuih Badak Berendam which is an East Coast-style delicacy of glutinous rice balls stuffed with gula melaka-drenched coconut filling in coconut milk.

Feast on an extensive spread of Malay culinary delights such as grilled beef skewer, grilled lamb skewer, grilled prawns skewer, ayam percik, ikan kembung berlado, sambal berlado, pajeri brinjal, gulai lemak telur and more all beautifully presented in trays laid out on intricately-designed kain batik at RM75 nett available only from 5pm till 9pm.

Jom Makan Street Food, SkyAvenue Level 4 will be offering a special set menu of Nasi Ayam Panggang, Bubur Kacang Hijau and a glass of chilled ice lemon tea, orange, lemonade or Milo at RM35nett, available from 12 noon till 8pm. This offer is extended until 14 April to cover the first Aidilfitri weekend.

Enjoy the Aidilfitri set promotion with delicious lemang, kuah kacang, sayur lodeh, ayam rendang, bergedil tauhu and more at RM25 nett per pax for 2 pax at Jom Makan, SkyAvenue Level G from 10th till 14th April 2024, 12 noon till 9pm.
