A&W MAKES PERLIS DEBUT

October 20, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

A&W, the beloved fast-food brand that has captured the hearts and taste buds of Malaysians, has proudly opened in Perlis. Situated in Kangar, this new A&W outlet solidifies the brand’s commitment to bring its iconic fast-food classics to the northernmost region of Malaysia as part of its ambitious expansion plans across the country. With its presence in Kangar, A&W is now represented in every state in Peninsula Malaysia!

The opening follows closely on the heels of the recent launch of A&W’s 100th outlet at Sierra 16 in Puchong, Selangor, followed by another in KLIA Terminal 2. These new restaurants serve as a testament to the brand’s rapid growth and enduring popularity, marking yet another step in A&W Malaysia’s aspirations to reach 130 outlets nationwide by 2024.

What makes the A&W in Kangar truly special is its commitment to serving the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This means that residents of Perlis and visitors passing through can now satisfy their cravings for A&W’s beloved comfort food at any time of the day or night, making it the go-to spot, even for late-night munchies in Kangar.

Additionally, the restaurant will offer the convenience of a drive-thru service. As such, this new A&W in Kangar will also cater to those who prefer to dine-in or simply on the go. Whether you’re an individual, a family, or a traveller in need of a quick, delicious meal, the new A&W in Kangar has something to offer everyone.

Celebrating the remarkable journey of the brand in the country, George Ang, CEO of A&W Malaysia proudly states, “A&W has grown together with Malaysia, spanning multiple generations of Malaysians. As times change, so does A&W, as we serve a new generation of diners while staying true to our iconic presence to make us truly AWesome! Our commitment to continuous innovation ensures we deliver invigorating offerings to everyone. Today, we extend the A&W experience to yet another vibrant community. Rest assured, we’re not stopping here, and we look forward to sharing many more milestones together with all Malaysians.”

Meanwhile, Kevin Bazner, Chairman and CEO of A&W Restaurants, Inc., shared his commendation for the brand’s presence in Malaysia. “Malaysia holds a special place in the heart of the A&W extended family globally. The country has not only embraced our brand over the last six decades but has become an essential contributor to our international growth. In this regard, I want to thank Inter Mark’s efforts in strengthening A&W’s presence in Malaysia. The tremendous growth that we are witnessing only serves as a testament to the potential that this market offers. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to A&W Malaysia on this groundbreaking outlet in Perlis and eagerly anticipate many more successes on the horizon,” he said.

Since its inception here in 1963, A&W has ingrained itself into the hearts of customers, young and old, who have savoured its classic menu items. From flavourful Coneys to tantalising waffles and the refreshingly iconic A&W RB floats, A&W has been a constant source of joy for generations. In recent times, younger Malaysians have also embraced newer signatures such as the Mozza Burger and A&W’s Golden Aroma Chicken, all prepared with fresh ingredients to ensure the highest levels of quality.

As A&W Malaysia opens its doors in Kangar, it invites residents and visitors alike to savour the flavours of nostalgia and innovation that have defined the brand for 60 years. With its commitment to quality, convenience and the enduring appeal of its classic and contemporary menu items, A&W remains poised for continued growth and success in Malaysia.
