HYATT REGENCY BALI AND ANDAZ BALI APPOINTA CLUSTER DIRECTOR OF FOOD AND BEVERAGE

July 10, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Iljas Linnbark has been named Director of Food and Beverage for Hyatt Regency Bali and Andaz Bali, where he will oversee all aspects of the two resorts’ culinary operations, including at the Pizzaria and Omang Omang at Hyatt Regency Bali, as well as the Andaz Bali Fisherman’s Club and Village Square.

Linnbark worked his way into a management position and has spent the last ten years in the Hyatt family. He started his career as a restaurant manager at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok before moving to Hyatt Regency Osaka, Japan, as the assistant director of food and beverage in 2016. He then started his role as an assistant director at Grand Hyatt Tokyo, and later appointed as director for the Tokyo Olympics Project. His last position before joining the Sanur family was as a director of F&B for the first Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Japan, called Fuji Speedway Hotel.

Working in the food and beverage industry runs in the family, as his family owned a pizzeria and coffee shop since he was 13. There he used to offer his help to run its operations after school. And later, having a curiosity about working in the hospitality industry, he worked as a bell boy and with the valet service in a hotel in Sweden for six months before entering college, where he learnt a lot about how the hospitality world works. Linnbark, whose hometown is in Sweden, Stockholm, is a graduate of the Les Roches International School in Switzerland, where he received his hotel management diploma.

Linnbark is looking forward to continuing the history of Hyatt Regency Bali as it celebrates its 50th anniversary later this year, in November. He is committed to getting the first Andaz in Indonesia on the map with the great vision of the brand. “Both resorts have a beauty of their own, and with a clear vision and direction, we are improving so we can grow bigger and better. We are definitely getting to where we want to be with the whole team,” said Linnbark. “I feel lucky to be surrounded by a great, strong team, each from Regency and Andaz, offering very good support for each team,” he added.

When he is away from his office, the father of one enjoys spending time with his family exploring the island and takes pleasure in listening to and making music.
