Genting Malaysia shines at HAPA Awards with 19 hospitality, service and culinary wins

 

Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM), operator of Malaysia’s premier integrated resort destination – Resorts World Genting (RWG), and Resorts World Awana (RWA) has swept a staggering 19 hospitality, service and culinary awards for its many outstanding establishments and signature food and beverage outlets at the recent HAPA Awards Malaysia Series 2023-2024. Among the exemplary establishments lauded include Crockfords, Genting Grand, Genting SkyWorlds, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse and Resorts World Awana.   

Known as the “Oscars of Hospitality”, the prestigious HAPA Awards honours outstanding organisations and individuals who have demonstrated commitment, drive and passion for excellence in hospitality.

Crockfords emerged a big winner for the night clinching The Award of Excellence – 5 Star International Recognition under Malaysia’s 20 Service Excellence Establishments 2023-2024 and the 5-Star Hotel Award under Malaysia’s Best 30 Hotels & Resorts 2023-2024. Additionally, Crockfords Club won the Casual Dining Award for FUHU Vibe Dining under Malaysia’s 20 Service Excellence Establishments 2023-2024, and their Sous Chef Jimmy Poh clinched the Chef of the Year – King of Asian Cuisine accolade. 

Also rising above the rest was Genting Grand, RWG’s jewel in the crown which won the 5-star Hotel award under two categories, Malaysia’s 20 Service Excellence Establishments 2023-2024 and Malaysia’s Best 30 Hotels & Resorts 2023-2024. 

The nature-inspired Resorts World Awana secured the Eco Green Activities award under Malaysia’s Best 20 Tourism Destinations & Tourist Attractions 2023-2024, whilst Ayu Awana was selected as Casual Dining winner under Malaysia’s Best 30 Restaurants 2023-2024. 

Under Culinary Achievement, RWG’s Chef Oliver Lopez was honoured with HAPA Special Recognition whilst Chef Jacky Yap of Genting Palace was recognised as Chef of the Year – King of Asian Cuisine; and Chef Teo Kheng Soon of L’TITUDE Restaurant, Genting Club, Chef of the Year – King of Western Cuisine under the category, Malaysia’s Best 30 Chefs 2023-2024. 

The ever popular Burger & Lobster at Resorts World Genting clinched the HAPA® Restaurant of the Year award under Malaysia’s Best 30 Restaurants 2023-2024 Casual Dining category. Not to be outdone, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse at Resorts World Genting was declared Fine Dining Restaurant winner and American Cuisine winner under the Malaysia’s Best 20 Service Excellence Establishments 2023-2024 and Malaysia’s Best 30 Restaurants 2023-2024 categories, respectively. 

Under the Malaysia’s Best 20 Bars 2023-2024 category, both Zouk Club and 360 Bar, Genting Club were honoured as winners. 

RWG’s latest outdoor attraction, Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park also scooped up the award for Theme Park/Water Park/Themed Attraction under Malaysia’s Best 20 Tourism Destinations & Tourist Attractions 2023-2024, whilst Buck’s Café, located in the theme park was a winner under Malaysia’s Best 20 Cafes 2023-2024, with Chef Casey Lim securing the title, Executive Chef of the Year – King of Kitchens. 

In addition, the winning individuals and outlets were also conferred HAPA’s Resilience Award for persevering and thriving despite the set-backs experience by the hospitality industry during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The attainment of numerous accolades at the HAPA Awards Malaysia Series 2023-2024 highlight the exceptional achievements and commitment of Genting staff across all establishments in pursuing excellence and creating the best hospitality, service and dining experience for guests.
