BRAND NEW WEDDING VENUE, THE DUNES, OPENS AT CARPE DIEM SANTORINI

March 21, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Say ‘I do’ at Carpe Diem Santorini’s NEW carbon-negative wedding venue, The Dunes. Perched on the lofty hills of the charming town of Pyrgos, with sigh-worthy 270-degree views so seductive it is possible to watch both the world-famous sunrise and sunset each day.

The Dunes Wedding Venue

Away from the crowds of Oia, The Dunes Wedding Venue is Santorini’s newest and largest wedding venue. With a maximum capacity for up to 150 guests, it can accommodate both large and intimate weddings. It has a large outdoor area which consists of an immaculate natural garden with a selection of local flowers and plants. There is a large ceremony area with an elevated wedding stage, a lounge area and a larger open-air dining area.

As the first climate-positive/carbon-negative hotel in Santorini, Carpe Diem Santorini is committed to sustainability, offsetting all carbon emissions, and planting at least 100 trees per wedding on behalf of the bride and groom. Carpe Diem’s carbon offset is fully certified, and the trees planted are audited by several international NGOs.

Partnered with a team of experienced wedding planners, The Dunes Wedding Venue offers a seamless and personalised wedding experience. For the ceremony, brides-to-be can make a dramatic appearance walking down the volcanic rock staircase and entering through the quaint Cycladic whitewashed gate. During the day, guests can admire the landscaped surroundings, the blue haze of the Aegean Sea and in the evening be amazed by the spectacular sunsets and star-filled night sky. As the ceremony ends and the sun finally sets, it is time for the celebrations to begin. The venue offers a multitude of options regarding setup and the purpose-built reception area has plenty of space to host a celebratory meal while taking in the magnificent views.

The team of Chefs will ensure the ultimate dining experience for guests. From canapés to a three-course meal, buffet or an open bar package, there are a wide variety of options to delight guests and leave an everlasting impression.

The venue, with its contemporary aesthetic and modern elegance, reflects the independent, family-run spirit of its owners and complements the unpretentious luxury of the island’s most exclusive boutique retreat, Carpe Diem Santorini.

Carpe Diem Santorini

Created solely for adults, couples and newlyweds in mind, the award-winning Carpe Diem Santorini has just 10 suites, the largest and most private on Santorini, all centred around an infinity-edged pool.  All suites are uniquely designed and come with private pools guaranteeing an ultra-exclusive and romantic retreat. Inside, brilliant white interiors contrast the blue of the private pool. Earthy materials such as black lava rock frame the living rooms and the muted tones of the spa-inspired bathrooms, all come together to set an intimate mood.

Carpe Diem Santorini’s concierge team takes service to the next level. The VIP butler anticipates the needs of each guest to ensure a memorable Santorini experience and reservations can be arranged for the most beautiful yachts, restaurants and wineries on the island.

The hotel also plants ten trees for every direct booking and offsets two tonnes of CO2 as well as the carbon emissions of its staff, funding sustainability projects in developing countries that provide jobs to local communities and tackle extreme poverty.  Carpe Diem Santorini is also gradually phasing out single-use plastics and replacing them with natural alternatives where possible. The toiletry bottles in the suites are made entirely of recycled and recyclable PET, and extra care is taken to conserve water and electricity.

Seize your wedding day at Carpe Diem Santorini’s The Dunes Wedding Venue, combining luxury and sustainability for a socially conscious, unforgettable, and world-class wedding experience.

A two-night minimum stay at Carpe Diem Santorini costs from €1,222 (approx. £1,072) based on two sharing. For further information or images please visit the Carpe Diem Santorini newsroom.
