Sime Darby Oils Extends A Helping Hand To Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang through #SayaDanNATRIEO Fundraising Campaign

November 23, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

In line with its aim to encourage Malaysians to give back to a good cause while taking care of their health and as part of its ongoing commitment to make a significant difference in the community, Sime Darby Oils recently made a contribution to charitable organisation, Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang. The contribution, which was part of its charity fundraising drive, saw Sime Darby Oils present more than RM17,000 to the organisation.

This was made possible through the Sime Darby Oils’ #SayaDanNatrieo campaign, which ran from April to June 2022. More than 3,000 bottles of NATRIEO Tri E Tocotrienols were sold nationwide via pharmacy outlets, the Sime Darby Oils e-commerce platform and website, and at on-ground events, and with every bottle sold, RM5 was channelled by Sime Darby Oils to the charity fund.

Managing Director of Sime Darby Oils, Mohd Haris Mohd Arshad, said “We are pleased to receive such a positive response in our drive to contribute for those in need. As part of Sime Darby Oils’ Culture of Care, we look forward to a continued partnership with non-governmental organisations such as Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang, as they play an important role in supporting underprivileged communities.”

Founded by social activist and philanthropist Kuan Chee Heng, better known as Uncle Kentang, Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang extends assistance to communities in need. From the funds donated by Sime Darby Oils, a total of RM10,000 will be channelled to Al-Mahmudah Centre, a charitable home for 45 senior citizens, to assist with daily operating expenses. The remainder of the donation will be utilised to purchase electric hospital beds for palliative patients.

Uncle Kentang said “We are very grateful to Sime Darby Oils for supporting the community through this charity fundraising drive. Every little bit helps, and each bottle of NATRIEO is helping to make a positive difference in the lives of the residents of the home and the hospital patients.”

In addition to this, in conjunction with Liver Cancer Awareness Month in October 2022, Sime Darby Oils recently announced its #JagaHatiDenganNatrieo initiative, encouraging Malaysians to take proactive steps towards preventing liver disease. The initiatives are part of Sime Darby Oils’ community outreach efforts aimed at creating a positive impact on society.
