The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4: Our First Impression

September 1, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

This year, Samsung recently unveiled their latest foldable phone which is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 earlier this month. And for those who are big fans of flip phones, Samsung Galaxy Flip4 perhaps will be your choice.

The awesome flip phone which goes well in your pocket, and in small bags is something you can consider. It is something worth going for where they come with awesome colours, screen, and you can have them on your hands or in your pocket easily.

Well, this fashionable Samsung Flip4 is now another NEW and YET MATURED Smartphone as it had been a hit since the release of the Flip3 last year. With the tagline “Flex is Greater Flat”; let’s see what is our first impression after we spend time with the Galaxy Flip4 for some time.

The Design

The Samsung Galaxy Flip4 had not many changes compared to the Galaxy Flip3 at the first glance. It is a smaller phone when it is flipped and when it‘s open it’s just the size of a regular phone.

Somehow, the weight is slightly increased and it comes with the Armour Aluminium Frame which gives a better improvement on the protection of the phone itself. You can find the volume rocker as well as the fingerprint sensor at your right edge. As for the USB Type-C Charging port, it can be found at the bottom edge. The phone completes with IPX8 water resistance. Unfolded, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is 0.2 inches thick. Folded, it bulks up to 0.6 inches.

The Colours

The Colours for this round comes with the choice of Blue, Pink Gold, Graphite and Bora Purple colours as standard choices. Asides, Samsung also revealed that a Bespoke Edition will be coming soon that will allow customers to customize their Galaxy Flip4’s rear glass panel and frame with variety choices of colours.

The Display

The Display for the Samsung Flip4 comes with the size of 6.7-inch FHD+  Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex panel with a resolution of 2640 x 1080, As for the refresh rate, it can be switched between 1Hz and 120 Hz and the screen comes brighter too which it is at about 900 nits.

As far as brightness is concerned, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 can reach a peak of 772 nits. Its pricier foldable sibling, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, hovers around a peak of 905 nits.

The Camera

The Z Flip 4 comes with the 12MP Ultra Wide Camera, 12 MP Wide Camera and 10 MP Selfie Camera. The rear camera has a 12 MP Wide sensor (f/1.8) with OIS, and a 12 MP Ultra-Wide (f/2.2) with a 123° field of view. The front camera is the same 10MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

And for video; it can shoot up to 4K video. As there is a number of software with the Flip 4, you can have more choices to capture your pictures such as the Flex Mode, Multi-Angle Camera as well as Nightography.

The Battery

Comparable to Galaxy Flip3, they had increased in the battery size which is 10% bigger. It is now at 3700mAh and it can charge faster which is at 25W. Not just that, it supports reverse wireless charging too!

What’s Inside The Box

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is equipped with a Quick Start Guide, Warranty Card, Regional Lock Guide, an Ejection Pin, and a Charging Cable.
