Susanoo @ OUG : A Hidden Bar with Naruto theme

September 28, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

For you who are big fans of Mangga, perhaps this is one of the places you love. The restaurant brings you a pleasing interior and themed spaces like Susanoo, an izakaya and a yakitori bar with decor that references the popular manga and anime series, Naruto.

The restaurant is indeed a hidden bar at the corner and one can actually spot them outside their restaurant which is on the sidewalk. You can easily spot them and it is just next to the restaurant and it is one of the popular picture spots for many.

Some of the highlights include the glowing eyes of Sasuke Uchiha over the bar area, and a symbol of Sharingan hanging as a decor piece above a dining table.

The restaurant is worth the visit if you are a big fan of kushiyaki-style skewers. Asides from being inspired by Naruto, here one can enjoy a wide variety of items which are specially made in-house.

Here, the chicken and pork are specially brimmed for over 6 hours ensuring the flavours are perfectly infused into the meat. It brings up the overall flavours of the dish itself.

To ensure the quality, the chicken comes all the way from Bukit Mertajam every morning and they are all fresh and never frozen. Not just the chicken, the pork is locally sourced from quality suppliers too.

Asides from the food, charcoal for grilling is imported all the way from Japan too.  Not just that,  their sauces and seasoning are blended beautifully after a year of fine-tuning. Their skewers are prepared in ship style or you can have them with the special sauces from Susanoo. The sauces had been aged in the claypit for more than a year and it is used to marinate the meat and make in different touch taste.

Come here with your empty stomach, and you can enjoy the wide selection of yakitori which includes Seseri, nankotsu soft bones, and many more. Here, one can enjoy the deboned pure neck meat, beat savoured hot off the grill, nankotsu soft bone, kawa chicken, and many more.

The meat is beautifully marinated and deliciously done. We love how they are done and each mouthful is indeed filled with aromatic flavours and it brings up the taste.

The Uzura Tamago is worth the try where the quill egg is perfectly marinated with flavours and it have the creaminess like what you have for onzen egg. Love the texture.

Asides from that; their Wagyu is another dish which is worth the order. They are beautifully shio giving you light flavours and did not take over the lovely taste of the beef itself. The meat retains its juiciness.

For Seafood Lover, go for both the prawn and salmon belly. Each mouthful is so good and they are indeed fresh. The prawns come simply juicy and the meat is as perfect as it is.

For Rice Lover, you can have your awesome done here too. One of their signatures is their Oyakodon which comes with the stewed chicken thigh and inions in dashi sauce, and beaten egg. The rice is awesomely delicious and they come so flavourful and delicious.

The Tori Karaage Don is another must-try here. One can enjoy the wholesome dishes where you can have the cubes of fried chicken thigh served together with the Japanese Mayo and scrambled egg. Deliciously good!

As for drinks, Susanoo offers a wide choice of beer and liquor. We love how the drinks are served. In here are wide choices of HighBalls to go for! So do check them out now!
