A Second Date with Spring with Oh Cha Matcha

March 16, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

Blossom by blossom the spring begins. Sakura season has arrived in full force where thousands of trees burst into bloom, dousing the streets with shades of pink in Japan. Sakura symbolizes spring, hope, beauty and renewal. This year, Oh Cha Matcha is celebrating their second spring on Malaysian shores and coincidentally their second anniversary with a Sakura themed, limited-edition box of Japanese goodies to commemorate the special occasion.

Priced at RM68, the Sakura box will surely delight those with a sweet tooth. Beautifully packaged in a pink box with Sakura prints on it, the box contains a Sakura Macaron, a Sakura Matcha Macaron, a Sakura Roll Cake, a Sakura Matcha Roll Cake, a Sakura Strawberry Daifuku and a Matcha Strawberry Daifuku, completing the fun and colorful line up of scrumptious traditional Japanese goodies.

Although localized to reflect growing trends and creatively infuse popular local flavors, Oh Cha Matcha is paying tribute to its Japanese origins and tea culture by pairing their Ceremonial Matcha drink (*priced separately) with the Sakura box. This match(a) made in heaven balances out the sweetness with the distinctive Umami taste of Oh Cha Matcha’s high quality matcha that is low in bitterness with just the right amount of tart.

The Sakura Box is a limited edition offering to commemorate Oh Cha Matcha’s second anniversary and is available via pre-order only and to be picked up on weekends at the store in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Oh Cha Matcha opened its doors on 16th March 2020 and has instantly gained a cult following with its creative lineup of innovative, quirky and playful artisanal Matcha based concoctions. Fueled by their passion for quality matcha, dynamic entrepreneurial sibling duo Choong Kar Wai and Choong Kar Heng who are also masterminds behind Garage 51 in Bandar Sunway, made a commitment to import only the finest matcha directly from the holy land of Matcha in Uji, Kyoto, Japan, ensuring only the highest quality matcha for the enjoyment of its consumers.
