GOODDAY MILK TO ADD HAPPY DESIGNS TO PPEs THIS WORLD’S CHILDREN DAY

November 9, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

 – Goodday Milk, one of Malaysia’s favourite milk brands since 1968, will be embarking on a Goodday’s Happee PPEs contest this World’s Children Day to spread goodness and positivity among hospitalised COVID-19 patients. This one-of-a-kind contest will encourage children to create cheerful artwork which will be printed on personal protective equipment (PPE) used by frontliners in children’s hospital wards. Goodday’s Happee PPEs contest will run from 25 October until 14 November 2021 and will be open to all young artists aged between 5 and 12 years.

While bringing nourishment for Malaysians, as a brand, Goodday Milk has always focused on bringing more goodness to the communities they serve. Whether it is through acts of community service or creative campaigns that introduce consumers to new experiences. The Goodday’s Happee PPEs contest, conceptualised in partnership with marketing consultancy-meets-agency, Entropia (part of Accenture Interactive), follows this same train of thought in bringing more goodness to children.

It is not uncommon for children, especially those hospitalised with COVID-19, to feel unsettled when they see healthcare professionals dressed completely in their PPEs, glass shields and gloves. In addition to feeling stressed about contracting the infection, the PPEs also make the healthcare professionals less approachable, only adding to the anxiety of the children.

To break this barrier and to add some cheer to an otherwise mundane PPE kit, Goodday’s Happee PPEs contest will give children the opportunity to design the artwork they wish to see on PPEs, giving it a colourful makeover. In this manner, Goodday Milk hopes to make PPEs less intimidating for children, giving this contest a for kids, by kids approach.

“While the use of PPE has become more prevalent over the last 18 months, children are still frightened when they encounter medical personnels wearing PPE. So in line with World’s Children Day we decided to embark on something positive and filled with goodness for our young consumers. We hope that through the Goodday’s Happy PPEs contest, we are not only able to give children a creative outlet but are also able to break the negative connotations surrounding PPEs. At Goodday Milk, we believe that even small acts of goodwill can trigger a flow of goodness and through this contest we hope that the posivity comes to help hospitalised children deal better with unpleasant experiences. We want to bring more goodness to the people in this challenging time with more innovative campaigns in the future,” said Yee Pek Kuan, Vice President of Marketing at Etika Sdn Bhd.

To participate in the Goodday’s Happee PPEs contest, artwork entries can be submitted under the comments section of the contest post on Goodday Milk’s Facebook page. Artwork entries can also be submitted on Instagram by using hastags #GooddayMilkMalaysia and #GooddayHappeePPEs in the post. Submissions will be accepted from 25 October to 14 November 2021.

Three winners will be announced on 22 November 2021 and will be awarded RM10,000 worth of education funds each, in addition to their designs being printed on PPEs and sent to frontliners across various hospitals.

This World’s Children Day join Goodday Milk to give PPEs a happy makeover!
