SUNWAY PUTRA HOTEL’S KEMBARA RAMADAN BUFFET GOES ON A NOSTALGIC JOURNEY ACROSS 14 STATES IN MALAYSIA

 This Ramadan, Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur celebrates iconic traditional local flavours at its all-day dining outlet, Coffee House. The hotel’s Kembara Ramadan theme is geared up to bring diners on a journey of exploration from North to South, and East to West through Malaysia to rediscover the nostalgia of authentic Malay dishes. Alongside the nostalgic and mouth-watering recipes to entice the palate are the many must-have recurrent dishes, served during the nightly berbuka puasa buffet dinner at 6.30pm to 10.30pm from 13 April to 12 May 2021 at the Coffee House, located on level 9 at Sunway Putra hotel Kuala Lumpur. 

This year, the team of chefs will be cooking up a storm, featuring over 70 mouth-watering Malay delicacies during the 30 delicious nights for berbuka puasa. Diners can anticipate a tasty array of dishes from each of the 14 Malaysian states, spotlighting the exciting and vibrant local culture through the familiar flavours of heritage cuisines.

Diners are in for a culinary treat with a multitude of delicacies to entice the taste buds and revitalise the palate, alongside four (4) exciting live action stalls, as well as a variety of kuih muih and desserts to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Savour an array of Super Sedap chefs’ highlights including Nasi Briyani Gam Johor, Ikan Pari Masak Asam Pedas from Melaka, Daging Salai Berlado Nogori, Ayam Percik Kelantan, Assam Laksa Penang and so much more as the team of chefs bring dishes from around Malaysia to diners, taking their taste buds on a journey “balik kampung”!

“This Ramadan, we are pleased to offer a myriad of dishes inspired by different states and exciting food cities in Malaysia. As travel restrictions are still in place, we have decided to bring popular Malay delicacies from all over the country to Sunway Putra Hotel instead. Diners will certainly be excited to recognise classics such as Midin Belacan from Sarawak, Rendang Tok Perak, Gulai Pisang Muda from Kedah, Umai-Umai from Sabah and so much more,” said Mr. Wilfred Yeo, Senior General Manager of Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

The many must-have recurrent dishes alongside the nostalgic dishes are served on the nightly berbuka puasa buffet dinner at 6.30pm to 10.30pm from 13 April to 12 May 2021 at the Coffee House, Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The berbuka puasa buffet dinner buffet is priced at RM99.00 nett per adult, RM49.50 nett per child or senior citizen. Besides all children below 6 years old dining for free, a maximum of two (2) children between 7 – 12 years old are entitled to enjoy the buffet for free with each bill. All food served in the Coffee House is certified Halal.

GROUP DINING / PRIVATE EVENTS

Starting 19 April 2021 to 7 May 2021, Sunway Putra Hotel offers group berbuka puasa packages for groups of 40 to 250 persons in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom or Grand Diamond function room at a capacity of six (6) persons per table. Prices start from RM130.00 nett per person with special banquet berbuka puasa menu(s) available.

Ramadan meeting packages are also available for up to 20 persons in a Boardroom or Classroom set-up. The meeting packages are inclusive of berbuka puasa buffet at the Coffee House, with prices starting from RM160.00 nett per person.

HARI RAYA HI-TEA BUFFET

13 MAY TO 14 MAY 2021 | RM78.00 NETT

Celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Fitri with family and friends at the Coffee House where a festive hi-tea buffet is available at RM78.00 nett per adult and RM39.00 nett per child and senior citizens on the first and second day of Raya, 13 and 14 May 2021, starting from 12.00pm to 5.00pm. 

Diners can expect must-have Raya delicacies such as Lemang, Serunding Ayam, Rendang, and Bubur Lambuk, as well as selection of Malay specialities, local and International cuisines, along with live-action cooking stalls, a pasta station, and more!

RAMADAN AND RAYA CSR CAMPAIGN BY SUNWAY 

In the spirit of giving, Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur’s Ramadan and Raya CSR initiative targets to distribute 1,000 packs of bubur lambuk and 350 buka puasa meals to the urban poor in the Klang Valley throughout the festive periods. Through this initiative, several groups needing nutritional support have been identified – Masjid Abu Ubaidah Al Jarrah, Kuala Lumpur; the homeless from Anjung Singgah Kuala Lumpur and Pusat Transit Gelendangan Kuala Lumpur (PTGKL), residents of Persatuan Kebajikan Al-Fikrah Malaysia Old Folk’s Home, and children from several homes including Rumah Titian Kasih and Pertubuhan Rahoma Darul Fakir.

This CSR initiative is a joint effort by Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Sunway Putra Mall, Sunway Velocity Hotel, Sunway Velocity Mall and Sunway Medical Centre @ Velocity, supported by Sunway Group.

Sunway Group will also be celebrating this Hari Raya by sponsoring a Raya luncheon at Kajang Women’s Prison, donating rice to Sunway’s ATM Beras nationwide, distributing bubur lambuk and giving essential groceries to the underserved communities in Klang Valley, Perak, Penang, Johor and Kelantan. As part of the Sunway LINE initiative, a total of four laptops will be gifted to four orphanages in the Klang Valley. Some 15,000 beneficiaries throughout the country will benefit from these initiatives.

This initiative is in line with Goal 2: Zero Hunger in fostering a better future for the communities in which Sunway builds, serves and lives. This global movement and commitment to end hunger is vital particularly in lifting the underserved communities.
