Asian Afternoon Tea @ One Six Five Lounge, Intercontinental KL

February 2, 2020 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review 1 Comment

For those who are a big fans of afternoon tea, Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur is one of the place that offers great afternoon tea. Located at their lobby, one can enjoy the finest afternoon tea here at their One Six Five Lounge with the great view.

In here, you can have 2 choices of the afternoon tea where one would be the western style afternoon tea and another would be the twist of the East elements in it. And this time, we choose to enjoy their Eastern Style afternoon tea which are beautifully served in the bird cage alike.

The set comes with the Scones where you can enjoy the selection of raisins, fig and plain scones. It is perfectly served with the Devonshire clotted cream and jams with it.

As for the savouries, we have the Crispy Baby Carrot filled with the glutinous rice, dried shrimp, pumpkin and salted egg yolk, Taro Swan with braised venison and Sichuan hot bean sauce, somen -potato cup filled with the shredded duck, bean sprout and fried egg and the deep-sea squid sushi topped with fish roe mayonnaise sauce. Each of the savouries are beautifully prepared and simply addictive. I am totally in love with it especially the presentation and the taste.

We ended with some sweetness where we enjoyed he sable breton with the chestnut cream and blueberry jam, dim sum basket surprise wih the green tea and red bean flavoured yuzu, glazed peach filled with compote and vanila sponge, chocolate tea pot with jasmine chantilly cream, plum compote and almond dacquoise, and the chinese layered cream cake.

Overall, we are indeed falling in love with their awesome afternoon tea selection. The set completes with a pot of selected ronefeldt tea blends, premium coffee or nitrogen coffee.

Price : RM 178 per set.
