A Showcase of The Executive Sous Chefs at Nook Happens This March at Aloft KL

March 9, 2019 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

This March, Nook, Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral’s all-day dining restaurant  brings you with their latest promotion which is focusing on their two Executive Sous Chefs, Hamid Buyong Ramli and Muhammad Norhanis Nordin.

And this time, both the talented chef will be showcasing their specialties on the buffet at Nook for a sensational dining experience. One thing that both of these talented Chefs have in common is that they share a big passion for their jobs and always striving to cook up unforgettable dining experiences for their guests.

Chef Hamid Buyong Ramli, known as Chef Hamid, has been part of the culinary team at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral since the Hotel opened in 2013. Chef Hamid began his culinary journey over 20 years ago as a commis chef in the Western kitchen of a Hotel coffee house. His training over the years allowed him to venture into various cuisines before he decided that his passion was with Indian and local cuisines.

Specialising in Indian and Asian cuisine, his specialty dishes on the buffet spread will include Chicken Briyani, Lamb Varuval, Chicken Tika with Tandoori Sauce, Daging & Rebung Masak Lemak and Rendang Itik. His passion extends beyond cooking up savoury dishes as Chef Hamid is also a master of sweets with his recipes for delightful local Malaysian desserts like Bubur Kacang Hijau Durian and Bubur Gandum & Jagung which makes for a sweet ending to a feast full of local flavours.

Chef Muhammad Norhanis Nordin, better known as Chef Hanis, is trained in Western and Fusion cuisine and will be serving up his specialty dishes on buffet.  Having worked in various western cuisine restaurants in 5-star hotels for the past 11 years, Chef Hanis passion for the cuisine is reflected in the dishes he will be preparing for the buffet line in March.

The highlights of the spread will include Sous Vide Chicken Breast with Spicy Chocolate Sauce, Duck Breast with Flake Almond and Grapes, Miso Glazed Meatball with Berries, Homemade Gnocchi with Sage Butter and Sundried Tomato. Similar to Chef Hamid, Chef Hanis also creates delectable desserts which include a Marble Dark Chocolate Tart with Berries Compote and Passion Fruit Tart & Lemon Curd with Meringue.

Nook’’ A Showcase of the Executive Sous Chefs’ buffet dinner is priced at RM120 nett per adult and RM60 nett per child for kids aged 6-12 years old from 1 – 31 March 2019.
