COOKOUT! – A BBQ Contest by MyCreative Ventures

MyCreative Ventures is looking for the best BBQ cooks Malaysia has to offer so if you think you have what it takes or know someone who does, get in touch and submit your applications by the 10th of March 2019.

MyCreative Ventures is a government investment arm set up to spur the Malaysian creative industry comprising 10 pillars including the culinary arts. Cookout will be its first initiative that features a culinary arts competition which aims to celebrate BBQ enthusiasts and is open to all Malaysians that have passion for BBQ.

The Cookout Finals and judging will be held during RIUH’s March 2019 edition on the 30th and 31st of March 2019. RIUH is a curated creative platform that features a variety of pop-up stores & food, creative workshops, showcases and live performances. The Cookout Finals will be held on 30th March 2019 where the finalists will compete and have the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills and sell their signature BBQ dishes at the popular event.

Contestants are free to showcase a variety of styles and cuisine as long as it requires the food to be prepared on an open fire in true BBQ style. Cookout is open to new ideas & NOT limited to steaks, ribs or briskets. Nusantara grilled dishes such as Satay and Ayam Panggang are also acceptable.

Contestants are required to submit a brief overview of their food concept and details on its unique selling points, price points and person/ story behind the food or business along with photos in a PowerPoint, video or word format. Shortlisted contestants will be notified and announced on 14 th March 2019.

The top three winners of the BBQ competition will win RM5,000, RM3,000 and RM2,000 respectively. There will also be a People’s Choice Award as voted by the public on the day of the competition! Deadline for submissions for Cookout is 10 March 2019 so be sure to submit your applications to [email protected] titled Cookout in the header.
