Poon Choi Set for Chinese New Year @ Dorsett Grand Subang

January 26, 2019 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

There are so much of delicious offerings this year and one of them is of course poon choy. It is a tradition that not to be missed during Chinese New Year where poon choy is generally served during Chinese New Year in China where every household will bring their own speciality or produced to add into the bowl and cooked them together.

But of course, now we can have poon choy at many restaurants too. One of them is of course The Emperor Restaurant at Dorsett Grand Subang. Dorsett Grand Subang brings you with their Dorsett’s Prosperity Yee Sang and 6-Course Poon Choi Set.

We started off with the Prosperity Yee Sang. Tossed your prosperity, good health and great wealth this year at The Emperor Restaurant. The Yee Sang comes with the sliced prawns, generous portion of shredded radish, carrots and many more.

Next we had Double-Boiled Matsutake Mushroom with Farm Village Chicken and Dry Scallop. The bowl of tummy warming soup to start off. The soup comes soothing with the light flavours but yet very healthy. I love every mouthful of the soup which is just perfect to my tastebuds.

Poon Choi is packed with loads of ingredients from the Braised Abalone, Sea Cucumber, Dried Scallop, Dried Oyster, Black Moss, Fish Maw, Black Mushroom, Yam, Roasted Crispy Chicken and Duck, White Radish, Braised Bean Curd Stick, Chinese Cabbage, Fatt Choy Fish Ball, Broccoli, Fresh White-Water Prawn and their signature Emperor broth.

Steamed Glutinous Rice with Smoke Duck and Mushroom
Grab this awesomely delicious glutinous  rice where they are packed with flavours and topped with the smoked duck and mushroom. It comes deliciously good and something to look forward here.

Double-Boiled Red Dates with Snow Fungus and Pearl
And finally, we had the awesomely prepared soothing desserts. It comes with light sweetness and the taste is perfect.

This year, Dorsett Grand Subang offers two (2) selections of 6-course Poon Choi set menu available from RM988 nett for four (4) to six (6) pax and RM 1,388 nett for seven (7) to ten (10) pax. The set menu consists of Prosperity Yee Sang with Salmon and Pear, Double-Boiled Sea Whelk with Bamboo Pith and Farm Village Chicken, Prosperity Poon Choi, Steamed Rice with Diced Chicken and Yam, Deep-Fried Crispy “Nian Gao” with Sweet Potato and Yam and lastly Chilled Honeydew with Sago and Vanilla Ice-cream.
