Usher in the Year of the Dog this Lunar New Year with Classic Award-Winning Shanghainese Cuisine

January 30, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

Usher in the Year of the Dog this Lunar New Year with classic Shanghainese cuisine. The culinary symphony that is performed at the newly refreshed and renowned Shanghai restaurant at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur is led by Executive Chinese Chef Wong Wing Yuek. And in Chef Wong, Shanghai has a man who is dedicated to serving only the best and most authentic dishes from his native city.

Start your fortune here with the Prosperity Yee Sang with Salmon and Fresh Fruits.  The Yee Sang comes amazingly delicious where they are topped with the finely cut vegetables, fresh fruits and topped with chunks of salmons in it. And the yee sang is of course served with the luscious homemade sauce which is Shanghai’s well-kept secret recipe.

Enjoy theirs signature Braised Spanish Pork with Pine Nuts where one can savours the fragrant of the Spanish pork which is perfectly braised and infused with flavours in it. Love the taste of it.
Don’t miss their their signature delicacies where they have the Shanghainese dim sum. Enjoy the Baked Royal Bridge Biscuit, Steamed Siew Mai with Abalone and also the Deep fried bean curd stuffed with the French Goose Liver and Truffle Paste. Everything is decently prepared with the touch of heart in it.

The collagen dish of the day would definitely be the Braised Pig Trotter with Sea Moss. Enjoy the three layer pork which is well braised till perfection and give you the melts in the mouth sensation. This is just the perfect enjoyment.

In creating an auspicious feast for family and friends to usher in good luck, prosperity, good health and joy, Shanghai has specially created three set menus this year. Starting from MYR 288.80 per person, these menus are perfect for reunions and corporate gatherings. Luxuriate your palates in specialities such as Braised Superior Fish Maw Soup with Sea Cucumber, Bird’s Nest, Mushrooms and Shredded Chicken, Steamed Cod stuffed with Chinese Ham served with Honey and Supreme Stock Paste, Stir-fried Succulent Prawns with Sweet and Sour and Mustard Pastes, Traditional Rice with Chinese Waxed Meat and Vegetable in Casserole, Steamed Bamboo Fish Shanghainese-Style with preserved vegetable, Chinese Ham and Mushrooms, Braised Spanish Pork with Pine Nuts and Vegetable and Sweetened Cordyceps Flower with Snow Fungus.

Available on the Chef’s Specialities a la carte menu are unique and delectable creations to be savoured – Steamed Chicken with Chinese Herbs, Wolfberries and Red Dates, Shanghainese Family Hot Pot with Assorted Dried Seafood, Braised Wild Mediterranean Red Prawn in Brown Sauce, Braised Abalone with Superior Fish Maw, Dried Scallop and Mushroom in Casserole, Deep-Fried Bean Curd stuffed with French Goose Liver and Truffle Paste, Steamed Siew Mai with Abalone and Deep-fried Crispy Glutinous Rice Cake with Yam.
