Koenigii Nasi Kandar @Nadayu 28 : The best from Alor Setar

December 22, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

For those who are from Alor Setar, you will definitely heard of the famous Nasi Lemak Ong Alor Setar (王咖哩饭). The shop is recommended by many platforms from newspaper to TVstations. And being that, The Ong Brothers decided to bring down here in the town of Sunway. Located in Nadayu 28, Koenigii is located near Sunway University and Sunway Pyramid. And they will be opening their next outlet soon in Pavilion Elite early next year.

And for those who are not aware, Nasi Lemak Ong has been in Alor Setar for 20 years ago, and the two brothers renamed the authentic “nasi lemak” to its brand new brand “Koenigii”.  And this outlet in Nadayu brings you with the beautiful interior with the cosy ambience with the al-fresco style of sitting. And not just that, they have private rooms to cater for big crowds who wants some privacy. Complete with wi-fi; you have no worries of getting connected and get some Instagram friendly pictures here.

Being that, I love Koenigii brcause they do not use coconut milk in their curries and they are featuring the Alor Setar Style of Curries. So, it has a Malay, Indian and Chinese Influence in it. Ordering your meals here is simply easy, like other Nasi Kandar Restaurant, you queue at the counter and customised your favourite plate of Nasi Kandar based on what you love to eat. They have white or yellow rice to choose from I am in love with the yellow rice which comes pipping hot and aromatic with the hint of spices and coconut milk

And you can choose your main dish and they have over 30 choices for you to go for.The signatures includes the Signature Ikan Bilis (RM 1.90), Curry Mutton (RM 7.50), Curry Cuttlefish (RM 4.50), Fried Catfish (RM 6.50), Curry Squid (RM 4.50) , Petai and Bamboo Shot (RM .50). The prices are at the affordable price and they also listed in their menu as well.

After getting all your favorite add-ons, now is time to choose your curry . Available in 5 levels of spiciness, you can pick according to your preference and the staff will mix the right level of spiciness for you. This is where they have Mild, Standard, Medium, Hot and Champion

And here comes my hearty plate of nasi kandar. For the first timer like me, I am totally in love with the nasi kandar hee. The aromatic taste with the robust flavours of the curry is just making coming back again.

Asides from Nasi Kandar, they do served Rotis (roti canai, roti telur & etc) as well as Wok Fried Food (Mee Goreng, Nasi Goreng) and many more.
