
Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur has been awarded the Gold Award for 5-Star Hotel in Kuala Lumpur category at the inaugural Malaysia Tourism Council Gold Awards 2017 held at Putra World Trade Centre on 20 November 2017.
The Malaysia Tourism Council Gold Awards is described as the ‘Oscars’ for the tourism and hospitality industry in Malaysia to recognize the high achieving tourism businesses and brands in creating positive image of the country worldwide. This prestigious award ceremony is an opportunity to gather all national and local authorities, hotels, restaurants, attractions, tour operators and travel agencies to celebrate the excellence of Malaysian heritage, culture, tradition and modern achievements.
Guests of honour who attended the awards ceremony include the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, YB Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Director-General of Tourism Malaysia Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab and the President of Malaysia Tourism Council, Mr Uzaidi Udanis.
The Malaysia Tourism Council (MTC) or formally known as National Tourism Council of Malaysia (NTCM), is a politically independent and heart driven organization working solely for the benefit of the industry. The work expands from organizing intellectual discourse to community action for tourism players. MTC has members all over the country and is open to any NGOs who share the same vision on promoting sustainable tourism development.
