Preventative Wellness for 2018 – COMO Shambhala Urban Escape, London

November 13, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

COMO Shambhala Urban Escape — the holistic wellness centre at COMO Metropolitan London — is advocating an alternative approach to the traditional post-Christmas cleanse. Instead of embarking on a quick-fix New Year diet and detox, guests are being encouraged to focus on their overall wellbeing, both inside and out, with a longer-term commitment.

This approach towards preventative wellness is reflected in a wealth of treatments on offer that help replenish energy levels and teach guests about a different way of living. By committing to a more regular wellness schedule, our expert staff, from our yoga instructor to remedial and shiatsu masseuse, are able to form much deeper, more nurturing relationships. Guests will also become part of our community with access to our series of wellness events, and inspirational workshops with visiting specialists.

Among the longer-term treatments with real benefits is acupuncture, a traditional Chinese healing technique based on Taoist philosophy. After just one session with an expert practitioner, the body’s energy flow or ‘Qi’ will be revived, leaving guests feeling calm and refreshed. With a  series of regular treatments, guests will be committing to a lifestyle of preventative wellness that has been part of Chinese culture for the last 2,000 years. This is extremely beneficial to those living with stress, and sluggish systems, be it lymphatic of digestive.

For a taste of some of these experiences, COMO Metropolitan London is also offering a Body, Mind and Spirit package, ideal for those wishing to recharge after the hustle and bustle of Christmas while getting a taste of the serious wellness philosophy we subscribe to. A peaceful setting allows guests to unwind, rest and recuperate in an urban sanctuary where wellness always comes first.

The one- or two-night stay includes:

●      Accommodation in a Metropolitan Park Room

●      Breakfast from the COMO Shambhala menu

●      A 60-minute session with Intuitive Counselor Susan King or stress management consultant Toby Maguire

●      A 60-minute session with a professional personal trainer, yoga teacher or Rolfing expert

●      A 60-minute COMO Shambhala Massage and footbath

●      A copy of the COMO Shambhala cookbook, The Pleasures of Eating Well

For guests who can’t commit to an overnight wellness programme, COMO Metropolitan London still has plenty of opportunities to focus on holistic health, from a signature COMO Shambhala Massage to a Dr Hauschka facial. Non-residents can enjoy COMO Shambhala Cuisine, which is served all day in the lobby lounge, offering a perfectly calibrated mix of raw and cooked ingredients to boost concentration and energy, and balance blood-sugar levels.
