YG Republique Malaysia @ TREC

October 17, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Located in this complex is an authentic Korean BBQ / grill restaurant (Samgeori Butchers) and a pub (K-Pub) that presents Korean bar food with drinks. YG Republique has three outlets in South Korea, after the ever so popular Samgeori Butchers pork barbecue restaurant in Hongdae and has recently opened its first branch overseas in Bangkok’s Show DC mall.
The BBQ grill restaurant serves premium pork and beef, using only iberico pork from Spain. Besides BBQ grill, 3Geori Butcher’s also features a near dozen ala carte meals, including YG Specials – Andong Jjimdak, a traditional Korean chicken stew with glass noodles and many more.
And this round, we had their signature premium pork (Spanish Black Iberico Pork) and beef cuts. We had the Butcher’s Sampler (RM 210 / 3-4 pax) (600g) where we were served wih the cuts of Pork Neck, Pork Shoulder, Pork Belly and Abanico. The taste were good and it was well marinated. The meat remains its juiciness and the tender cuts of it.
 Budae Jigae (for 2-3 people) – RM60
The delicious bowl of the Korean famous soup was one of my favourite of the night especially it was raining that day. The soup came with a mixture of pork, ham, sausage, beansprouts, kimchi, ramen and rice cake. Nicely done and it was such a great comfort food that night. Btw, this item is only available at YGKL outlet.
Butcher’s Pork Fried Rice (RM50 for 2 pax portion)
The signature where the butcher pork fried rice was served with the great amount of the pork meat, kimchi, 2 sunny sides and of course the chipotle sauce. The portion was good to share with the aromatic flavour in it. For those who love some fried rice, this was just perfect indulgence.
And of course, do try some of their KPub Snacks such as the Red Chicken and their Spicy Rice Cake.
Red Chicken – RM50 for Medium
One of their Korea’s all time favourite menu, the fried chicken served with homemade sauce. Crispy and juicy. Addictively good.
Spicy Rice Cakes – RM52
Korean’s beloved spicy rice cakes is another signature here. One must have this whenever you visit them.
For those who are a big fans of Korean Delights and Korean Star, you can visit them more and perhaps you can spot your Oppa there.
