The recent event of the Food & Hotel Malaysia 2017 (FHM 2017); we had attended the Belgian Fries Press Conference, where 5 major Belgian fries exporters were exhibiting as a group for the first time under the Belgian fries banner. The event was at KLCC Convention Hall and their intention is to widen their networks and increase their share of Malaysia’s growing market for processed potato products.
We had learned that the potatoes that were imported here is all halal-certified. And some of the company includes Agristo, Bart’s Potato Company, Clarebout Potatoes, Ecofrost and Mydibel. They are the five biggest family-owned businesses in the industry in Belgium offering a wide range of potato products and specialties that are exported to over 100 countries would-wide.
And during the event, they are looking for more opportunities to export their products to other contries as well. And what we also understand is where Belgium is one of the country that have a high food standards and innovations that will definitely drive the demands oversea, Asides, they believe that Malaysia is one of their target market as we are a country visited by millions of tourist and our strategic location in South East Asia for trade with neighbouring countries.
