Li @ Damansara Jaya PJ: Delicious Pork Toast and Ikan Bilis Congee

August 7, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

A nice place for some delicious local delicacies is here. And now, there are more and more hipster places that you can venture in Klang Valley. And recently we found out this little café by the name of LI bringing us with the unique healthy dining experience.
The restaurant started and run by three close friends, they brings you with the Malaysian flavours but with an upscaling style of the classic kopitiam experiences.
Starts your meal with their freshly baked LI’s sourdough loaves. Enjoy the thick sourdough which are being served with butter or you can have them with their sous vide kaya (RM 7++). We are impressed how this kaya is made where they are beautifully done using the sous – vide technique. Bring you with the light sweetness, and the taste comes creamy too.

Pork Toast (RM 9.50)
One of the signature here,  the Pork Toast is indeed something worth to try.The taste is just awesome, addictively good and I am impressed. The toast is covered with the generous porky hash, drizzled with their homemade chili mayo and herbs. Nicely done!

Charred Spiced Cauliflower (RM 17++)
Something worth to try and it caught my attention once I spotted them in the menu. Served with yoghurt and in house dukkah, the cauliflower comes impressive good and addictive. Having the aromatic charred aroma with the spice in it, the cauliflower remains tender to bite as well.

Braised Pork Belly (RM 30++)
A must to go for here is also their braised pork belly. Enjoy this tender  and juicy pork belly where the pork belly is cured and braised for several hours before served.  To make them crispy, they had actually boiled and deep fried twice bringing you both the moist and crispy bites of it. Sides with the bak choy and also the potatoes at the side.

Ikan Bilis Congee (RM 10 )
Help yourself with the delicious congee where they are indeed one of the best sellers here. Using the ikan bilis stock, the congee is well made with the velvety texture and topped with the spring onion puree, onsen egg , fish sauce caramel and dehydrated kai lan. Such a comfort meal to enjoy.

House Rice Bowl (RM 17.90)
One of my favorites of the night, the House Rice Bowl comes simply impressive. Using only  chicken thigh, the chicken is brained and then being pan seared skin-side out till crispiness with the nice golden hue. Served wih ginger, scallion and pickled cucumber together with the onsen egg and chili mayo.

Ends your meal with of course Li homemade refreshment. Enjoy the fresh squeezed lemonade, lemongrass and also the preserved kumquats with it.

For desserts lover, have some twist of sweet and sourish desserts which is indeed my favourite. Have their sweet – lychee, coconut milk, meringue and lime granita dessert.
