Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur Announces Two New Executive Appointments

Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is pleased to announce the  appointments of Christopher Hough as the new Executive Assistant Manager for Food and Beverage and Olivier Pistre as the new Executive Chef of the hotel.
As Executive Assistant Manager for Food and Beverage, Christopher Hough will be responsible for operations, focusing on all aspects of the food and beverage department.
Originally from Ireland, Mr Hough brings with him a wealth of experience spanning 15 years in food and beverage and luxury
hospitality. He joined the hotel from Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Méridien Hotel, where he was responsible for managing the food and beverage department. He has previously worked with several luxury hotels in Melbourne, Sydney and Ireland.
Mr Hough’s key achievements include successfully re-launching restaurants and function spaces as well as having two restaurants under his purview being awarded as Bangkok’s best restaurants.
In his new capacity as Executive Chef, Olivier Pistre’s extensive knowledge and culinary expertise will see him work towards improving the hotel’s dining outlets and food and beverage facilities. 
                   
Chef Olivier is a French national with over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. Upon graduating from the patisserie division in Mazamet, France, he has enjoyed a successful career at distinguished hotels in France and Monaco with years of experience at Michelin-starred restaurants. Prior to taking on his current role, he was Executive Chef at Shangri-La Hotel Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey.
Chef Olivier has won a number of prestigious industry awards, including winning the Golden Trophy and title of Best Caterer with his team at the prestigious International Catering Cup competition held in Lyon, France in 2015. During his tenure as Executive Chef, Shangri-La Hotel Bosphorus, Istanbul was awarded for having the Best Chinese Restaurant in Turkey for 2016 by Time Out Magazine.
With the appointments of these two renowned industry specialists, Mr. Hough and Chef Olivier will be instrumental
in implementing a new exciting direction for the hotel’s culinary and food and beverage departments. They are set to explore new food trends and opportunities to redefine and further elevate the hotel’s dining and culinary scene.
